When I was in England, I looked nostalgically at photos from Sibiu, Romania.
When I am in Romania, I look nostalgically at photos from England.

What can this be, if not the fact that we often live either in the past or in the future, and far too little in the present?
It feels as though the present moment passes too quickly, because we are troubled by the past or worried about the future. We have the impression that “elsewhere” is easier, that things are better somewhere else, but in reality, they are not.

I have come to believe that all that truly matters is the present and our ability to enjoy it, without constantly running away in our thoughts toward what will be or what we could have done differently.

After living 4 years in Romania and 5 years in England, I realized that it is as if half of my life is there and the other half is here.
A part of you remains wherever you have lived, and it is impossible not to look back with nostalgia, because in both places you have gone through hardships and joys.
There are good things and less good things everywhere. If I had lived in more countries, I would probably have felt the same.

I have become aware that there is no perfect life anywhere. Every country has its advantages and disadvantages.

When I was in England, I missed the sense of safety, warmth, kindness, and openness of the people in Romania.
When I am in Romania, I miss the civility of England, the respect for privacy, order, organization, and modernity—things that, here, seem to arrive much more slowly.

After living for many years in a foreign country, I can say that many people in Romania would benefit from spending at least one year abroad, to see how another society functions.

In the end, we always end up making comparisons: there it’s better, here it’s not, or the other way around.
What I know for certain is that positive change begins with each of us.

Let us strive for an open mind, for growth, for more.
More information, more education, more empathy and respect.
Because order, kindness, and goodness start from within us.
You cannot change the thinking of an entire population, but you can change your own way of thinking.

💄Story time: Listening to different stories from the careers of many makeup artists, I realized that some artists have loved makeup since they were kids and chose this path early on, while others found their way here by chance, through trying things out.
There’s no right or wrong way; just different paths, each with its own journey. Some discover their passion earlier, while others do it later.

Recently, I tried to remember my first experience with makeup. The memories are a bit blurry because they happened a long time ago and I didn’t pay much attention to them at the time.
But I do remember that my first makeup product was a small palette with four purple eyeshadows from Avon. My cousin showed me how to use it in a simple way: I would put on three colors, from the lightest to the darkest, on my eyelids and then blend them, like a gradient.
I loved that palette and used it a lot. It turns out that I’ve liked makeup since I was a child, even though I didn’t realize it back then.

When the sun isn’t shining, you wear its color to brighten your day and lift your spirits when you’re not in the mood.🧡

This feeling isn’t just about the weather; if it’s sunny, we feel full of life, but if it’s cloudy, we often lack motivation.👇🏻

At first, I thought that if you do what you love, you’ll always be in the mood for it. But that’s not true. There are times when inspiration is missing, when you don’t feel like getting out of bed or putting on makeup, and you just want to stay in your pajamas.
It’s normal not to always be in the best mood, but that doesn’t mean you should let your mood dictate your life!

Sometimes, you need a day or two to recharge, but other times, all it takes is a little makeup and a splash of color to get ready for a new day. And then, inspiration comes along the way.
We just need to understand ourselves better and distinguish between these states, because if we don’t take the steps towards achieving our dreams, who will?
