Hey There! Time for the monthly update.

We're celebrating the first 6 months of content for this YouTube adventure. As an update let's look back on what we've done so far since this photo of DJ Paul Rodhy was taken on January 1st, while the first video of this channel was premiering and launching The Online Mixtapes Archive series.

From the 26 Videos posted, 316 tracks were played adding up to close to 30 Hours of music in DJ mix format.
(4 Themed months covered exclusively the decades of the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s)

As of today we have 471 Subscribers, with a total view count of over 26,7K.

Doubling these numbers is now a new goal, but the mission to showcase the music we play has been so far very successful and allowed us to expand our reach beyond the people we encounter on the dance floor of every venue we've been able to present our vision of music without barriers of genre and age, in a surprising approach of old school mixing in combination with the latest technology that creates emotional unique moments.

We STRONGLY believe that the art of real DJing and music selection is not lost but hidden under all the hype trendy stuff that gets pushed on social media and that is one big reason that led us to create this channel. For those kinds of people that like many different genres but still enjoy that house music vibe this is becoming a small Oasis to be discovered.

Also the incredible talent we've been finding out there of tremendous producers with genius remixes is absolutely amazing and is one big aspect of keeping this vibe the way we present to you.

Hello Everyone!

We hope that you've been enjoying the Decade themed past few months on the channel. It's been a time bending journey through all the trends and styles from those specific times, the evolution of music and sounds is on clear display.
Most probably noticed that many of the monster Classics from each decade were missing from the playlist, but we are just saving them to a Golden Classics themed month later down the timeline.

One BIG rule about this series is not to repeat any song under any circumstance (remixes & originals - sampled stuff kept to a minimum), so that you always get a selection of different tracks and discover more music in the process. We have now surpassed the 250 tracks mark and there is a very interesting portfolio taking shape here, which was exactly the goal we had right from the start.

You can expect the following months of June, July and August to dive into a more tropical and exotic sound signature, visiting mostly genres from Latin Culture and the infectious percussive rhythms that come with it, very much in line with the Summer Season we're about to enter and the period of the "Sunset Discotheque" events that we host on our residencies in Venues and partners.

We are hopeful that this Summer of 2025 brings you the MAGIC we see out there and you get the chance to dance barefoot on the sand of a beautiful beach. The music that we'll share may help to take you there just by closing your eyes and listening.

The file sharing links will continue to roll out as previously announced.

Here's the monthly update on the Discotheque's YouTube channel.

First off, the download links for the mp3 audio files from all weeks videos from February are available in the pinned comment for each video. For the March weekly videos, the links will be posted next May 1st as previously announced (two months delay from the video being published).

A new playlist has been created with the decade themed mixes from the months of February, March, April and upcoming May. It was quite a fun challenge to stay within the confines of the correspondent decades and keep the mixes not only consistent to our philosophy but also in a growing rhythmic pace week after week.
This month of April (the 2000s decade) the focus was much more the official remixes used at that time period instead of showcasing alternative newer remixes from the popular songs at the clubs in that era. The goal was to enhance the experience further deep into the real clubbing scene experience from that time period.

We try hard to mix things up and keep it interesting and add some extra value in as many ways as possible not only to provide the content, but also to help some people discover their favorite tracks from back in the day.

Next month will probably be the final decade themed mixes (the 2010s decade), but we are always looking into creative ways to keep the range of the mixes within a certain genre, space or time so people can enjoy a cohesive style throughout.
By the end of this series of 52 weeks there will certainly be a little bit of everything for everyone just like we provide in our events.

Segway into the events front, which are outside of the online realm of YouTube, we have started to work on the Summer Season with weekly collaborations in the form of Sunset events where people can enjoy great music paired with some cocktails at beach locations, and some urban rooftops as per the usual Summer outdoor activities get more in focus. Here's the monthly update on the Discotheque YouTube channel.

First of all, we THANK YOU for the support shown in the likes and comments of our dj mix videos, it gives us extra motivation to keep working on this side project, and boosts the continuous effort to bring you every week a special selection.

We are now halfway through the third month in our YouTube journey, and some things are becoming important to address:

1- This is obviously a MUSIC content channel, therefore the focus is on that aspect alongside our brand and logo. All effort goes into the quality of the sound, the music selection and mixing in order to upload a body of work that can withstand any test of time at any point in the future.

2- We intentionally avoid playing the numbers game either for views, subscribers and every related measuring metrics. That is why we keep the titles, thumbnails and descriptions pretty much consistently simple, and not ask for any call to action or sharing in that regard. If the viewer likes it, then organically it will share the link, leave a like or a comment or go visit any of the available links in the info section.

3- We got enough numbers to approve the third tier of verification which allowed us to include chapters in all videos so you can easily scroll and find any particular track within any video.


4- The FREE downloads through a Google Drive link have started to roll out, and it will keep the same two month delay after the video being published. The links will be posted as pinned comment under each corresponding video on the 1st of the month for all that months weekly videos.

5- Monetization: We created a "buy me a coffee" profile so people can send some support with the most flexible options we could find either for a one time donation (no registration required) or any sort of membership with some small perks. The nature of this channel would never allow us to monetize it due to the copyright restrictions, because it picks up the original vocals and attributes the rights to it's respective labels and distributors.

6- Regional restrictions: We have had most of the videos restricted in some regions, particularly Russia and Belarus and pretty recently one video had one song that got a worldwide restriction and forced us to change the playlist. We cannot guarantee that all videos will be allowed to stay public as we noticed that some restrictions are altered without notice and take effect retroactively, probably in accordance to the agreements YouTube has with the labels.

Finally, the updates:

We started our 2025 Summer Season this week, and will be every thursday at Danau Beach Bar from 17:00H till 21:00H for our SUNSET DISCOTHEQUE. This collaboration is celebrating it's 3rd year in a row in a beautiful location on the beach of Baleal, Peniche - Portugal, which is a world famous Surf Spot and tourist destination.
Next week, our weekly sunset will take place during the Rip Curl World Surf League and is a part of the official program of events taking place. Entry is usually free to everyone, all ages. Also pet friendly.
