Here’s a breakdown of the wardrobe inspirations for the recent Sanders Sides episode! As many of you gleaned, they were based off Doctor Who and their companions. For Logan, I just knew we needed to pay homage to the 4th Doctor’s iconic scarf. It’s the necktie for cold weather.
Roman of course styled himself after one of the most iconic companions, Rose Tyler. She’s pretty darn fearless, got a lot of main character energy (esp. considering latest DW events IFYKYK) and if Roman was gonna go on a sci fi romp for Logan, he wanted to embody all of that.
Ahhh Clara Oswald… the impossible girl. One of my faves. Clara exuded so much warmth and optimism thru all her adventures, providing such a good balance to the 12th Doctor’s darker aspects. She always believed he could get them thru any issue. Felt like the best fit for Patton.
Virgil just felt right being inspired after Donna Noble, one of the most sarcastic companions. Her wit and repartee countered with the 10th Doctor, making their balance one of the strongest pairs in the series, and I’d like to think that’s how Roman’s come to feel about Virgil.
This was the trickiest for you all to place, and rightfully so, cause this was the most tenuous outfit inspo of the bunch. Lord knows he wasn’t gonna wear maroon. Plus, Janus desiring a hat at all times completely adds a new outfit element lol. I’ve always found Martha Jones to be the most badass companion. She could handle her own, so much so that she went on kicking ass, even after leaving the Doctor. Janus probably would admire that self-sufficiency.
Rory Williams, ah my dude. Probably the most hapless companion I’ve seen in the series lol. He pretty much got whisked into being a companion, following after his love, Amy Pond, who joined the Doctor. But despite his reluctance, he was steadfast, his heart was in the right place, and, god bless him, was trying his best. Probably the best fit for Character!Thomas.

I resonated with it especially this year, with so much going on, not just in the country, but in my home state of Florida, and I wanted to reflect that a bit within the video.
