🌊 Grateful Reflections from Tokelau 🇹🇰 Mālō ni aiga, from New York.
After nearly two months in Tokelau, I’m back in the U.S. for a short family pause and some much-needed reflection.
Tokelau was one of the most rare and blessed experiences of this entire voyage. Being welcomed into the community, not just as a visitor, but as someone embraced like family which has left a deep imprint on my heart. Life there moves differently. Slower. More intentional. More human. It required presence in a way that pulled me away from screens, updates, and even words at times.
If I’ve been quiet, it wasn’t from distance or neglect, it was immersion. Remote islands do come with connection to the outside world, but also with a depth of experience that’s hard to translate in real time.
Now, sitting back on the other side of the ocean, I just want to say thank you. Your support, emotional, creative, and financial via donations that made it possible for me to be there, to listen, to learn, and to carry these stories forward with care. I’ll be sharing photos, stories, and deeper reflections from Tokelau here soon, once I’ve had time to let it all settle.
For now, just know this: I’m deeply grateful.
Fa’afetai tele lava. Fakafetai lahi. Thank you...from the depths of my heart.
With love,
voyager

Im hella behind on my voyage YouTube content for the sake of daily deep immersion into Samoa & Tokelau
As of four days ago I returned to American Samoa to send some keepsakes and belonging to New York (home) and for paperwork needed for travel in 2026.
Today I leave the territory, back to samoa with a flight two days later to Hawai’i and four days later to New York for the first time in two years to spend with my family.
Through all the heaps of blessings growth, challenges, setback, and amazing breakthrough I’ve had from non profit feats to making it to Tokelau, your voyager is long overdue for a break and some time with his family.
This is going be a great time for a hard reset to truly reflect on how much I’ve done while also preparing to take things to even higher levels for the return to the pacific.
But on a personal family note: out of all the homes I’ve been in and bound to be in, my home always comes first and I’m incredibly excited to be in mine!
Stay tuned for heaps of works to catch up on in the coming weeks and months 🥰

Voyagers: Tokelau 1.0 concludes tomorrow and I an extremely blessed for this entire experience. It's been almost 7 whole weeks since i landed on the shores of Tokelau, one of my biggest if not the biggest dream of mine in my entire voyaging.
I've immersed so heavily into Atafu and the community that have wholeheartedly have become part of it (In the words of many here). I have been torn at my departure for the past week though my departure from Tokelau and the pacific is not only for long overdue family time. But a long overdue break in all my efforts of this voyage and mission of storytelling. Growth in media, becoming a photographer, building a non profit from scratch all while exploring inward in American Samoa, Samoa, and Tokelau.
I have heaps of media works and storytelling out of Tokelau that I can't wait to work on during my voyage and please stay tuned.
Again, when i say this was a dream of dreams, it truly was
with love from Tokelau

Last week your voyager got the blessing to dance Tokelauan Fatele during the general fono in Fakaofo.
The honor this was instill can’t put to words but I hope these photos convey one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my Pacific voyaging 🥹
I’ve been absent on YouTube solely because of how deeply immersed and embedded I am into the community of Atafu let alone Tokelau in whole.
It’s been a dream for 8 whole years and an effort for two. Sorry but not sorry to say, my time on a laptop will come. But for now, I’m living second to second as an adopted Tokelauan 🇹🇰
Stay tuned voyagers 💙

A three day voyage into a dream of dreams #tokelau 🇹🇰 (IG Reshare)
It’s a Thursday afternoon on Manono island spending r&r with a family I connected with so strongly just for a breather. The week was intended just to kick back but be in my cultural element. Though I get an email with words that hit me out of no where, there is one space for you to go to Tokelau, but it’s in two days.
When I say I was unprepared, I was really unprepared. But two days later after hard goodbyes, lack of sleep, and quick arrangements in and around Apia, I was on that boat without hesitation.…
8 years since Tokelau popped up on my dream list since Tuvalu,
And two years since the initial email to immigration and a slew of challenges along the way.
With uncertainly and a waiting game upon waiting games, I found myself on the MV KALOPAGA finally bound for the islands of Tokelau.
A three day long journey from Apia to the Tokelau archipelago was not a challenging journey due to sea sickness which I never really get. But the fatigue was double time having trying to catch up on long needed rest combined with motion of the ocean. However, the slow graceful experience allowed a beautiful transition from Samoa via the crew, to Tokelau via the passengers whom I was blessed to have met.
The meditative state of the open and vast blue ocean eventually welcomed the long desired and familiar view of low lying islands of an atoll, timed right with a colorful sunrise and a frigate bird gliding overhead welcoming the voyager and into what is a new chapter of this voyage.
The workers doing their thing while I stare into the islands of Fakaofo and Nukunonu (from below and above) in utter and complete disbelieve that , Jesus…I really am here.
At the time of writing, I am on the island of Atafu still in disbelief and yes with some ocean motion lol. But the journey in between is the most integral puzzle piece to a voyage. Let alone, on the open seas like the voyagers did long ago.
Malo ni Tokelau,
humbled, grateful, and blessed to be here is mildly putting it
💙💛⛵️🇹🇰
