I just finished watching Amphibia and, without any spoilers, lemme just say the ending almost brought me to tears. It takes a lot for a show to do that!
Now is time for spoiler (WARNING TO DA PPL WHO HAVE NOT SEEN FINALE!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA)
First off, the Calamity Girls’ battle against the Core felt like I was witnessing a final battle from Sonic in real time, and Anne’s acceptance of having to leave the world of Amphibia was a good reminder to treasure the moments spent with those close to you, because you never know when you might lose them. Sasha, Marcy, and the Plantars had satisfying endings as well! (SPRIG = GRUNKLE FORD THEORY REAL?!!!! 😱) Andrias and Grime also had really good redemptions, and the whole thing with Leif starting a family in Wartwood hoping for Andrias’s return to kindness was really sweet. (What is it with big menacing rulers like Asgore and Andrias becoming gardeners?) Overall, everyone had satisfying endings that didn’t feel rushed or cash-grabby, even with the more side characters like Sylvia and Maddie. Will def rewatch after I’m done with Steven Universe and the like! <:3
