Hear This WWII Legend in Action: M16 MGMC “Meat Chopper”
The M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage (MGMC), commonly known as the M16 Half-Track, was an American self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle developed during World War II. Built on the M3 half-track chassis, it was armed with the M45 Quadmount, featuring four .50-caliber (12.7 mm) M2 Browning heavy machine guns.
Nicknamed the “Meat Chopper,” became famous for its devastating volume of fire. Originally designed for short-range anti-aircraft defense, its four .50-caliber Brownings also proved highly effective against ground targets and enemy infantry.
In this video, you can see this beautifully restored M16 MGMC during a live demonstration. You’ll also hear the distinctive sound of the Quadmount firing blank rounds, giving visitors a realistic impression of the incredible firepower of this legendary WWII vehicle.
