Cinematic journeys through the Philippines and the world. The most profound journeys begin when we stop rushing—and start noticing the value, trade-offs, and costs of moving through the world.

I’m Ely Valendez. Shaped by two decades in journalism, finance, and the BPO sector, I've learned a place’s true soul isn’t in landmarks—but in the intersection of culture, economics, and the quiet moments most people pass by.

This channel is a cinematic inquiry into unspoken truths through grounded storytelling. We don’t just show you where to go. We explore why we stay—and how we build.

What to expect:

The Hybrid Documentary:
Premium films merging travel, social insight, and the hidden costs of everyday life.

The Fearless Inquiry:
Reflections on identity, money, and the systems shaping how we live today.

Because every place reflects the choices we make.

Is the Pasig River Ferry the answer to rising fuel costs? This service is currently 100% free, offering a strategic way to bypass the heaviest traffic points in Metro Manila.

I spent a day testing the frequency, accessibility, and overall experience to see if it’s a reliable tool for the everyday commuter. If you’re looking for a practical way to save money and find a bit of peace during your commute, this could be it.

Watch the full breakdown and logistics in the latest video.

We are a nation hitting the limit of what we can process.

In 2026, the feeling of being overwhelmed isn't just a mood—it’s our environment. Between the ₱130/L fuel prices and the National Emergency, our collective cortisol levels are at a breaking point. We are all searching for a way out of the burnout, looking for a stress relief that a simple day off can't provide.

In this episode, we are weighing the Visita Iglesia not as a religious obligation, but as a survival mechanic. We’re looking at how we buy back our sanity in a world that refuses to let us unplug.

Tell me in the comments: Are you feeling overwhelmed by the grind, or overstimulated by the noise? When the world gets this loud, where is the one place you go to finally feel the silence?

Let’s talk about the trade-offs of finding your sanctuary. 👇

Dropped the third episode of #TheFast earlier tonight. It's not a guide but a showcase of JOMALIG, a remote island destination in Quezon Province for those who want the peace and quiet. Definitely worth the 6-hour cargo boat ride from Real, Quezon.

We already lost the ocean. Are we losing the sunset too?

By 2035, the skyline of Manila Bay will be unrecognizable. We are pouring billions of tons of sand into the water to build massive, futuristic smart cities. But as the mainland sinks and the shoreline is pushed away, what happens to the working class who just want a place to watch the day end?

In the Season 1 Finale of The Quiet Map, we head to the SM Mall of Asia—the great equalizer of the Metro—to watch the horizon disappear.

"We’re taught to fear the man in the t-shirt, but we open the door for the man in the suit.

In our latest episode, we look at the invisible walls of BGC. Is it a city for everyone, or just a movie set where looking 'right' is the only way to belong? With the new Metro Manila Subway finally breaking ground at Kalayaan, the bubble is starting to meet reality.

I’d love to hear your heart on this—do you feel like BGC is finally opening up, or will it always feel like a world apart?

Please watch!

Manila is often described as a city built for cars. Parqal is trying to prove it can be built for people.

As we map the "15-Minute City" concept in Aseana, I’m curious: Do you think this modern, climate-protected walkability can be replicated across the rest of the Philippines, or is this a beautiful exception?

Episode 8: The Gateway Canopy is now available. Let’s discuss the future of our streets in the comments.

I got to celebrate TET in Vietnam, the most important celebration for every Vietnamese family. It wasn't as boring as I was warned about.

While the world might have tagged the celebration as "Chinese New Year," the Lunar New Year is not exclusive to Chinese people. Thus, the correct term is "Lunar New Year."
