After NetJet made a new airline called Elegant, a airline based in Denver (KDEN) and it’s newly born hub in Chicago (KMDW), has been slowly moving away from being a part of NetJet. After that, the airline (Elegant) very recently (May 8th, 2026) completely broke off from NetJet becoming it’s own individual airline. The airline in response, NetJet, made a request for 9 codeshare flights to Elegant in hope too move the company’s closer to a possible merge. NetJet requested codeshares for flight mostly out of Chicago Midway (KMDW) for “Future routes and friendship.” Elegant’s response was yes, and said: “We understand what you’re saying, and we accept, but we do not want to merge.”
NetJet also requested 2 codeshare flights to palm springs airlines. PSP-PEK (operated on a Boeing 767-300ER), and PSP-CTS (operated on a Airbus A321XLR). palm springs FIRMLY rejected the first flight (PSP-PEK Boeing 767-300ER), BUT, accepted the second flight (PSP-CTS Airbus A321XLR).
Here’s what their statement looked like:
“We want to stay as a separate airline and mark the history of Palm Springs, and are selfs. We do accept your request, but only one. No more.”
What is NetJet doing here? Are they doing something secretive?
