Power paddles have dominated the storyline for a couple of years, and the vast majority of 2026 releases were power-focused. I think we’ve finally hit the ceiling. Now that power is available from so many brands and most players have tried it, the novelty is going to fade. My guess is we’ll see more rec players shift back to balanced, all-court style paddles because that’s where they actually play their best ball. I see so many rec players using big-power setups, and in a lot of cases, it’s hurting their game more than helping it.

Pickleball Effect
I'm playing in a local money ball event tomorrow morning and decided to play with the Vatic Pro V-Sol Pro Bloom with this weight set up. This paddle has the handle length I like and brings enough firepower to keep me dangerous without overwhelming me. Plus it comes in a very lightweight, and forgiving package combo that I'm drawn too.
