I used to struggle with making decisions.

Especially when it came to stuff that really mattered to me. The stuff that would change my life in a meaningful way.

Big dreams and goals. Habits. Relationships. Career. Finances. How to use my free time.

I’d get so frustrated with myself, because on some level sometimes, I had a feeling for what I “should” be doing, but I just wasn’t doing it. And the indecision, lack of action, and inconsistency eroded my self-confidence even more over time.

You know that gnawing feeling when you realize you’re procrastinating a choice, a change, a decision you need to make?

mindset shifts are bullsh*t—here’s why.

I can’t escape these “mindset shift” videos all over my feed lately.

You know the ones. They promise “success mindset” and “abundance mindset” or my personal favorite for the ladies—“black cat energy.”

And hey, I’ve been guilty of putting this kind of content out in the past too.

But here’s the question nobody’s asking…

If “mindset shifts” actually work so damn well, then why do we get stuck in the same loops?

How come we can crush it in business but totally flop in relationships?

Or be a fitness beast but a financial disaster?

And even when these “mindset shifts” do work… what’s ACTUALLY happening?

Turns out, it’s not actually your “mindset” that’s the problem.

It’s your nervous system.

Your body decides what's "safe" before your logical brain gets a vote.
It's biology, not psychology.

And sometimes? Your nervous system is like that overprotective friend who won’t let you go talk to that hot person at the bar.

“Don’t do it! Stay here with me where it’s safe!”

It’s that feeling you get when you try to push forward and something inside you screams, “WAIT!”

Not yet.
Not now.
Not me.

And it’s not because you’re lazy or broken.
It’s because your nervous system thinks taking action = death.

That explains why:

➡️ You watch a motivation video and feel PUMPED… for about 37 minutes.
➡️ You repeat affirmations until you’re blue in the face… but still struggle to take action.
➡️ You want to put yourself out there and “try to think positive”… but you still freeze when it’s time to take action.

A few months ago, I was about to be interviewed live in front of a Zoom room full of hypnotists.

I had all the mindset stuff down. I talked myself up. Got myself psyched.

But my body? It was in full-on panic mode.

Sweaty palms. Racing heart. The works.

My mindset was ready. My nervous system was having a toddler-level meltdown.

So, what’s the fix?

I used a simple 5-minute technique that instantly calmed my nervous system.

The same technique I teach pretty much all of my clients who need to feel safe to change something in their life.

I call it the “Pause Button” and I have a video that teaches it to you in 5 minutes.
