Yo guys! Got a few updates for you regarding [What-If #21]!

• I know how much you love the infographics I include in the animations, so I’ve been thinking of a really solid way to give a valid reason for the “Beast” transformation (which has been tough, not gonna lie haha).
Originally, I was going to go with the idea that Gohan training under Piccolo over time sort of “infected” him, giving him a more demonic appearance similar to the Demon Clan. However, I think the reasoning is going to be a bit different now, or maybe a mix of both. The explanation I’m going with for “Beast,” will, as the movies and statements indicated, tie into Gohan’s Rage, something we’ve seen multiple times before in the Saiyan and Cell Sagas.

I will attribute Beast's demonic appearance to the Elder Kai's magic. Because the Elder Kai's Shinjin race originates from the Demon World, it somewhat 'corrupted' the essence of Gohan's Rage, which first manifested back in the Cell Games as a Super Saiyan 2, thus making 'Beast' take on a similar appearance, though it is not, exclusively, a Super Saiyan transformation.

• Watching Gohan control his rage while retaining his intelligence against Cell Max has helped Broly overcome his own berserk state, allowing him to finally control his Super Saiyan transformation. I believe the manga, before it entered hiatus, hinted at a close connection between Gohan’s and Broly’s respective demeanors and power-ups, and I wanted to reflect that in the animation.

• Many major parts of the animation are already complete (I'd say above 80% has been animated), the animation itself, the 3D stages, even most of the sound effects as well had been applied to that. The What-If segments, though, aren’t finished in chronological order yet. There are still some in-between scenes and extra details that need to be added so everything flows smoothly. Picking up motivation to work on this What-If has honestly been really tough (After this, I think I’ll go back to the previous 2D Sprite Animations, I’ve got more inspiration for those), But I’m steadily working on it, and it's going to be amazing, I'm doing everything at a healthy pace, so no need to worry. I still don't know of a release date since my pacing has plenty to do with the inspiration and motivation I mentioned above, which I had been lacking, but it *is* making progress.

I want to finish this just as much as everyone wants to see it finished, and mark my words, I will finish it! I really appreciate all your extreme patience with me through this. I promise it’ll be worth your time.

Once again, I'd love your feedback about what you think about this experimental style in the comments below! This isn’t a full shift in style! I’ll still be creating more animations in the 2D classic pixel-art style!! (Sadly there weren’t any existing 2D sprites for Cell Max, Gohan Beast, or Orange Piccolo, so this style let me animate what would’ve been impossible otherwise, and it lets me animate with all sorts of angles as well!) Yo guys! Know that I'm alive and kicking, it's just that life's been getting a bit in the way. Been trying to complete my Computer Science degree. Have had two major finals coming up, one of them I passed, and that was the hardest one! Next one is in mid-September. So I'm sorry that I've been less responsive, but know that right now I'm focusing on bringing What-If #21 together without neglecting my studies, and like you, I'm super excited about it. Trust that this is always on my mind, in a healthy way, no extra stress and no need to worry. Love each and every one of you, and thank you for the support as always! 🍻

Hello guys! I just wanted to let you know that What-If #21 is still in progress, as well as some exciting lore-expanding What-Else episodes—particularly ones that connect to the recent remake of What-If #5!

What-If #21 is shaping up to be a huge project, and as a solo animator, balancing time constraints, and especially fluctuating inspiration and motivation to keep working on the same project is always a challenge. But just like with my previous big projects, I’m fully committed to delivering it with 100% quality. I sincerely apologize for not having an estimated release date yet, but rest assured, it’s coming!

To keep the channel (and my sanity—haha) alive and thriving, I’ll *likely* be working on other projects in-parallel. I’ve also been thinking of creating shorter What-If animations that aren't just Dragon Ball related, as I always did now and then. For example, Omni-Man VS Homelander or Sasuke (Rinnegan) VS Gojo. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions!

That said, I believe What-If #21 is going to be the most emotional What-If yet in-terms of story. I can’t wait to share it with you all. Thanks for your patience and support—it means the world to me! Cheers and have a great weekend! 🍻
