-I love to cook and bake, and I'm really enjoying my current food journey: recreating recipes from Gorl World and beyond. TikTok, YouTube, everything can provide inspiration!
FAQ:
Am I a VIB?
-No. I've been a member in the past, but joined to answer her medical and cooking questions. There were lots of lurkers in the old EG Discord that did this.
Am I a professional cook?
-No. I was a baker, and I've done everything there is to do in a restaurant--my parents had one for over 15 years. I have a "day job" and side gig as a food writer.
How do I pick the recipes I make? Why did you start this?
-Honestly, they're just ones I'm curious about, or ones that people request. Someone in my real life died, and I was looking for a project.
Why do you walk away for a bit sometimes?
-Life happens. This is just a fun hobby for me.
How can I contact you?
-DM me on Twitter: twitter.com/UnbelievablyV

In my last video about Foodie, I pointed out that the prices she is quoting are in Canadian dollars. So, her rent isn't $2200 USD, it would convert to $1,588 USD per month for a 1-bedroom with a den. That's actually pretty reasonable for a large city. That sushi is $32 CAD but just $23 USD. Something to keep in mind as you watch her!

Had a brief incident with my doggo this morning at the vet. She got me pretty good as they were sedating her for dental work, so you may see some pretty deep red scratches on my right hand and arm for my next few cooking vids.
It looks much worse than it feels, but I need to keep it open for healing. Just an FYI. She's home now, sleeping off her anesthesia.💞🐕❤️🩹

I was incorrect about the OHIP waiting period in my last video. Please see the pinned comment by a very kind viewer who did a great job explaining it. My opinion still stands that if her breathing gets worse, Foodie could still afford to visit a walk-in clinic as uninsured. She has money for edibles, takeout, and new couches, but doesn't seem to realize that her health is more important than any of that.

Many of you know that I save my YouTube money to travel. In 2024, I saved up for my January 2025 trip to Doha and Thailand. This year, I decided to do something different--smaller, shorter trips like Las Vegas this summer to see family and Candy, and now a road trip to Niagara Falls with my parents for my mother's birthday. We'll finish out the year with one more, longer trip.
Thank you all so much for all of the views, comments, and encouragement. While this may be a side gig, I love that it all comes full circle so I can take you along on my trips. Here are some previews of what's to come.

In my last video, I touched on the concept of American chain restaurants, hidden salt, carbs, etc. I'll do a follow-up video about some tips and tricks I've figured out, but my situation is pretty specific. Most of you know that Dad has controlled Type 2 diabetes and Parkinson's Disease, but his Parkinson's Disease Dementia (PDD) has moved to the forefront of how we make decisions.
Right now, I'm focusing on things that make him happy, places he's familiar with, while giving Mom some time off. My primary goal is to take him out for full days when we go to the doctor, and that includes his favorite diners like IHOP or Denny's. He really enjoys looking at the menu, being out, talking to the servers, etc. For my own goals, food that's lower in calories is always good!
Here's where you come in--what are some of your favorite chain restaurants that don't break the bank, macros-wise? I'll feature some of them in the video. It can be a specific place, a favorite dish, anything! Thank you in advance!

I'm getting a bunch of questions about my latest FB video so I'll just re-answer them here.
Q: Why did I say "republish" instead of "un-privated?"
A: As a creator, we have to go into YT Studio, choose Edit, then Publish as public if we want to make a privated video public again (see the attached photo). In my mind, that's republishing.
Q: Where can I find the video you're referencing?
A: Go to Foodie's channel, click Videos, then sort by Oldest.
Q: Wasn't this video always up?
A: Nope. Foodie privated all of her non-hijabi videos a while ago because they showed her hair. This one has come back up very recently.
Q: How did you find out this video was back up recently?
A: As a reaction channel, I have to pull clips or screenshots of what I want to react to. Going back to the original channel is always going to be the easiest option because you can clip it without editing out another reactor's commentary. When I go to FB's channel to pull clips, I filter to Oldest first, just to see if any of the older videos are back up. It's just habit. I make 2-4 videos a week, usually at least 1 about Foodie. So this video is back up as of the last few days or week.
Q: Is it against ToS to "republish" old videos?
A: No. We can private and un-private at any time. YouTube will simply have the video reappear where it was first published--not as a most recent video.
I hope I answered all of your questions! I just find it interesting that she's going back through her old content--something she says she never does. Maybe she's as bored as we all are! Oh, and those singalong videos have been up for a while. They don't show her at all, so those were added back a long time ago.

It's no secret that Gorl World can be a pretty dark place. My latest collaboration with Hungry FatChick is my attempt at doing something different, lighter, that I think people might still enjoy. I wanted to head off the questions with a few answers before the video premieres, since I know that this pairing may seem a bit odd.
How do I feel about Candy's mukbangs?
-I understand that YouTube is how Candy makes money, and that mukbangs are her format of choice. SHE is responsible for her choices, and I also understand that she is actively trying to lose weight for her health outside of her 2 mukbangs a week.
How did this collaboration come about?
-Ever since last year, when Candy first started talking about losing weight while doing mukbangs, I've thought that she could do it by tempering what she ate outside of her filming. I made a video about it, and she's been aware of my content ever since. When I reached out to her about it this year, we chatted and she kindly invited me to come visit. I love spending my YouTube dollars on travel, and I visited family as well.
What is Candy like in real life?
-She's a blast! We had SO much fun just talking--for me, it was really nice to connect with another YouTuber who understands the craziness of Gorl World. She considers herself GW-adjacent and I loved talking to her about the challenges we all face.
You're overweight yourself--why do you think you can help anyone lose weight?
-My goal wasn't to change Candy's life; rather, I went out to introduce her to lighter food from Southeast Asia that could fit well into a weekly meal prep. I don't hide the fact that I'm overweight and constantly working on myself. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
Did I have a good time?
-YES. If Vegas wasn't so far away, I'd go visit more often. Candy is a hoot and is so easy to talk to, we didn't make nearly the amount of video content we wanted too. That's how you know you click, when time gets away from you. I caught her up on Kittengate, made her watch @areyousrs0srsly 's videos about it and we had a blast.
Did you meet Tracy Gold?
-No. Y'all are nuts.
I'll have my mods on deck for the premiere this afternoon, and won't put up with any BS--you've been warned! I hope you enjoy this little collaboration.

Editing my shakshuka recipe video now. If you want to cook along, get canned tomatoes (I used diced, fire-roasted), an onion, garlic, eggs, crumbled feta, and crusty bread. Spices are to your taste, but I went with zaatar, garlic powder, chili flakes, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
