Dabbling in Shorts...

I've been uploading Shorts recently, in an attempt to get more, regular content out. I'm finding that the mental load required to make a minute long video is exponentially less than something much longer (plus shorts = microdoses of dopamine).

For example, that allowed me to put out a quick video about the ‪@TheCentreforComputingHistory‬ Retro Festival, yesterday. Almost immediately after the event, which is much more satisfying than letting it languish and then being far too late.

If you're interested in seeing more of these type videos showing my computer related exploits, please let me know. It's not always possible to make a full length video about these things.

I've also been putting out Shorts relating to older videos that some of you may have never seen, or that just died in the ever hungry algorithm.

I hope you're finding these videos interesting, and at the very least, I hope they're not clogging up your feeds with stuff you'd rather not watch.

Last week, Alexandra Palace were kind enough to let me into their archive, to try and dig some information out regarding a computer show that occurred here in the late 80s.

I won't go into the details too much yet about the reasons, but the video about it should be complete this, or next week.

What I will say is that going through 40 year old archive records will never not be exciting to me. There's just something absolutely captivating about these old records, that haven't been seen for decades.

It’s easy to forget sometimes that these kinds of videos; the simpler, rummage-and-reminisce type, are what many of you enjoyed most in the early days of this channel.

Seeing how much love this one’s had really reminded me of that.

I’ll definitely be making more of these, and similar more personable videos alongside the other 'heavier' stuff I’ve got planned.

Happy Halloween!

I've been working furiously on a video for this wondrous holiday, however, I've had to delay it due to an entire can of worms it opened, and the subsequent research required to see it through.

However, just like delaying a game is better than releasing it in an unfinished state (usually), the same is hopefully true here.

In the mean time, you may have missed this video I made earlier this year, digging deeper into the Berzerk arcade deaths. It's got the right vibe for Halloween and uncovers some very interesting details at the end.
