A small historical detail about the NSR500 ’84

Some viewers noticed that the blue line between the tank and seat cowl appears slightly misaligned from the side view.

However, this is not a decal placement error.

On the original 1984 Honda NSR500, the line was designed this way.
From certain angles it looks offset, but when viewed from above, the blue stripe actually connects cleanly across the bodywork.

I’ve attached reference photos of the real machine and the original marking guide for comparison.

Sometimes what looks “incorrect” at first glance is actually part of the authentic design.

Yes, I’ve stripped and repainted the fairing again — even though it was nearly finished.

The first redo was because I wasn’t fully satisfied with how the blue decals turned out.
The second time was… well, chasing perfection. I used a different brand of clear coat, and something went wrong. Honestly, I believe the mistake was on my end.

While figuring out what went wrong, I spent some time observing how the clear coat reacted after painting — and in the meantime, started working on another bike: the CB750 Four ’69, to keep things moving forward.

In the past month and a half, I’ve built the NSR500’84 fairing three times.
It might look like I’m just doing the same thing over and over — but every repeat came with priceless experience gained.

This build is almost there. Let’s keep going!

是的，我又把幾乎塗裝完成的整流罩，重新除漆、再製作了一次。

第一次重做，是因為對藍色水貼完成後的整體感覺不太滿意；
第二次重做，則是因為一時求好心切，改用了其他品牌的金油，結果出了狀況——雖然問題很可能是我自己操作造成的。

為了解決這個問題，我花了不少時間一邊觀察金油的變化，同時也製作了另一台車 —— CB750 Four ’69 —— 避免空窗期太久。

經過這一個半月，這片NSR500’84的整流罩，我已經製作了三次。雖然看起來好像一直在重複相同的工作，但每一次都是寶貴的經驗累積。

這台車，就快完成了。繼續加油吧！
