Hello!
I'm a nerdy Dane who dives into the world of politics across the liberal (and sometimes illiberal) world. Sometimes it's silly and mundane, sometimes it's serious and significant.

Hi all!
Seeking all UK politics watchers out there - I've got two questions for you:
1. Do you think the Mandelson scandal is going to be the end of Starmer? How do you think the next few days will play out?
2. Purely strategically, what is the smartest thing for Labour to do here? Does it make sense to keep Starmer for the time being and replace him after the locals in May or should they sack him now?
Personally, I'm leaning towards thinking that the smartest thing to do is sack Morgan McSweeney (not because I think he's anymore to blame than Starmer or anyone else, but sometimes you need a head to roll) and for Starmer to stagger on until right after the locals and to resign then. And I reckon that's also the likliest thing to happen as well...
What do you guys think?

Hi all!
Hope you've all had an excellent start to the new year! I've had a bit of an idea and wanted to run it by you all.
As many of you will know, the two countries which I follow the closest politics-wise are the UK and Denmark.
Which got me thinking...
Would you all be interested if I started a series of end-of-every-month videos where I give you all the highlights of the past month in British and Danish politics (in seperate videos)?
Short-ish, maybe around fifteen minutes per video, with the top five or so big political stories in each country.
Would love to hear what you all think. May trial the idea this coming weekend.
Thank you everyone!

Hi all!
I've got a video guide on Scottish politics out in about 20 minutes. This one took me a lot of time and it ended up being almost half an hour long. So I hope you check it out and enjoy it!
As you could all probably imagine, here in Denmark, Greenland is everywhere in the news. Inescapable. So I'm working on a couple videos on the topic. And so, therefore, I was wondering whether there's anything particular on the topic you all would like me to cover.
Are there any elements of the Danish-Greenlandic relationship you would like me to answer? Any aspects of Greenlandic politics you want me to cover? Anything at all?
If so, let me know and I will try my best to answer in an upcoming video!
You can either drop a comment here, email me (jo.ba.laursen@gmail.com), or message me on X (@JonasLaursen15).
Thank you!

Hi all!
Happy new years! Hope you all had a good festive period. New video coming out later today, so do stay tuned.
In the meantime a viewer recently sent me this timeline that they had made of Czech political parties. I thought it might be interesting for anyone who enjoyed my video on Czech parties.
Check it out below. You can find the creator on BlueSkye at: @septavelkomozny.bsky.social

Hello all!
I hope you are all having a great couple of days before Christmas!
In a couple days time I've got a video coming out ranking all the main British parties based on who had the best 2025.
I would love to hear who you all think had the best year and why! And if it's a different answer, who you think I chose.
Let me know in the comments below!
(I defined main British parties as UK-wide, Scottish and Welsh parties with representation in the Commons, Holyrood, or the Senedd).

Hello all!
Thank you so much to everyone who is continuing to watch and engage with my videos and to everyone who has recently found my channel and has started watching.
As you'll have noticed, I've done a handful of videos on the Danish local elections. I really appreciate all the interest you've shown for those videos.
There have been a few crazy developments in the mayor selection processes across Denmark since the results video I posted just a few days ago.
So I ask: are people interested in another Danish local election video on these developments or are we all tired and want to return to normal programming?
Let me know in the poll below!

Danish local elections are coming up in a couple weeks time. There's an ongoing debate about who should be allowed to vote.
Currently, for local elections, you don't need to be a citizen to vote - as long as you're a permanent resident and either an EU (or EEA or UK) citizen or have lived in Denmark for the past 4 years. However, for general elections, only citizens can vote.
I'm working on a video about this debate, speaking to a few politicians on their views. But I'd be really interested to hear what you all think.
Should only citizens be allowed to vote, or should suffrage be extended to residents? And does it make sense to have different voter eligibility for local and general elections?

Hi all!
Been getting some really encouraging responses to the video I made a while back - UK Politics for Beginners: A Guide - so am contemplating doing a bit of a follow-up where I go more in-depth with a more specific part of UK politics.
I've got some ideas I've been mulling below, but would really like to hear what topic you would all be the most interested in me diving into. So go on down and vote for what you'd like to see.
If you've got another idea, please chuck it down in the comments below!
(And just wanted to squeeze in a little thank you to everyone who's subscirbed to the channel, just hit 5,000 today!)
