Chester,
it’s hard to believe it’s already been 8 years since that day. I’m not sure why, but this anniversary feels heavier than it has in previous years, and so I want to take a moment to stop and dedicate a small thought to you.

Even though I never met you, your passing left an unfillable void in my heart. I’ve never felt anything like it… especially for someone I didn’t even know.
You and Linkin Park have been the soundtrack of my life ever since I was a kid. I’m sure you’d be proud of what your brothers down here are doing.

Some time after you passed, I had a strange dream. I was walking with you and some others along a narrow dirt road. You were behind me, making funny faces, and I was filming you with my phone while laughing like crazy. I like to think that, for a brief moment, I had the privilege of crossing paths with your soul.

Your voice and your immense talent will never be forgotten.
But more than that, I’ll never forget the kindness with which you treated your fans.

You’ll live forever in our hearts.
