Andres Gamboa | Brilliants and Blunders

I suck at chess. There, I said it.

This channel is me learning in public, trying to turn “I have no idea what I’m doing” into an actual chess brain. I’m playing at least an hour of chess a day (or making it up later when life and travel get in the way), recording the whole mess, and using it as accountability to get better at both chess and creating content.

Short term, I’m on a road to 1500 Elo in bullet, blitz, and rapid. Medium term, 2000 in each. Long term, some kind of master title. Dream-level, slightly delusional goal: Grandmaster. If your goals don’t make you or other people laugh, they’re probably too small.

If you like honest blunders, real improvement, a little self-roasting, and chill “hang out while I figure this out” vibes, you’re in the right place. Subscribe, drop your tips (or friendly roasts) in the comments, and come along for the chess improvement journey from “I suck at chess” to… hopefully “not terrible.”
