The connection between building the right tech skills and rising to greater opportunities in the tech ecosystem is truly powerful.

I recently had an insightful conversation with Professor Silva Opuala-Charles of the Garden City Premier Business School, and one key idea stood out: when you intentionally upgrade your skills, you unlock bigger opportunities, increase your earning potential, and gain access to the global open source community where learning, collaboration, and innovation never stop.

Keep learning, keep building, and the opportunities will keep expanding.

Nigerians will attend social events and deliberately spend money to access cash just to spray.

Funds are transferred from a bank account to a POS agent, service charges are paid, cash is collected, and then publicly sprayed at the event after which the same money re-enters circulation.

This practice highlights a strong cultural preference for cash as a symbol of celebration, visibility, and social status. In many settings, physical cash represents success and presence in a way digital transfers do not.

From a broader perspective, it raises important questions about our transition to a cashless economy. While financial technology has simplified how we store and move money, deeply rooted social norms still influence how value is expressed. The lesson is clear: technology can drive efficiency, but culture ultimately shapes behavior.

Looking back at my tech journey, I see how small steps, daily learning, and staying curious made all the difference. Growth didn’t happen overnight, but every experience added value.

Tech has taught me that consistency beats speed, and progress comes to those who keep showing up.

Still learning, still evolving, and grateful for how far the journey has come.

I’m reminding myself that how I show up matters. I don’t want to be busy, I want to be intentional. I’m putting my energy into what truly moves me forward, not the noise that only looks productive.

I’m deliberate with my time, focused on my goals, and mindful of what drains me.

Small, intentional actions done daily build powerful momentum.

Love was truly in the air as I had the honour of attending the beautiful wedding of my dear friend, Victoria Georgewill, to her heartrob.

From the joy on their faces to the warmth of family and friends, every moment reflected genuine love, commitment, and new beginnings. It was a celebration filled with laughter and happiness.

Wishing Victoria and her better half a lifetime of love, peace, and endless happiness as they begin this amazing journey together.
