What is Learning Curve all about?
The Universe is an amazing place, and the goal of this channel is to uncover some of its secrets.
I have been a science teacher for over 20 years, and I'm constantly amazed by the world and the universe around me. Having an inquisitive mind has set me on a mission to explore as many of the fantastic things I find as possible, and explain them to you.
So if you have an inquisitive mind too, then make sure to subscribe and check back to find out what I've learned each week. As I always say, curiousness makes us human.

Something new is coming to Learning Curve...
In September, I'm going to be launching Channel Memberships.
I've been thinking about this for quite a while, and there were two things I wanted to get right. I didn't want to put any of the main Learning Curve long form videos behind a paywall, and I didn't want memberships to become something that took time away from making those videos.
Instead, I want it to be a way for those of you who'd like to support the channel to get a little bit more Learning Curve, and, at the higher levels, to have a say in where the channel goes next.
There will be three levels:
π΅ On the Curve
Custom Learning Curve emojis and priority replies to comments.
π΅ Ahead of the Curve
Everything above, plus four members-only Shorts each month and members-only polls.
π΅ Shaping the Curve
Everything above, plus a monthly State of the Channel video or a behind the scenes video, eventually becoming a live Q&A as the community grows. Also the chance to help choose future Learning Curve videos. You will also get more polls asking for input on next videos, thumbnails and video ideas.
Memberships will launch in early September. I'll give you all the details, including prices, nearer the time.
And, as always, the normal Learning Curve long form videos aren't going anywhere. Membership is completely optional. It's simply a way to get a little more involved and support the channel if you'd like to.
More soon...

Hey everyone, it's me again. I don't post on here nearly as much as I should. I think I've come up with a schedule that I can hopefully stick to for at least the foreseeable future.
Every 2 weeks I will be posting a long form video. I'm currently making a series about infinity, though the video tomorrow will be on a different topic. Don't worry infinity fans, that series will be returning soon.
I have lots of videos planned, some of them will be video series, some will be stand-alone videos, I don't want to give too much away at the moment, but I'm very excited (though science always does that to me).
On the other week when I don't post a long form video, I will be posting 2 or 3 shorts (3 hopefully). I've been experimenting with shorts recently, and I'm not sure I've found a direction I'm happy with at the moment. If you have any suggestions for ideas for shorts then I'd love to hear them, please just add them as comments or comment on one of the short videos.
Anyway, apologies for that being quite a long post, and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow in my new video.
Take Care Everyone

Hello everyone. I've realised that while I'm working full time, making long form videos is a little tricky, so I will save those for my holidays. I can probably however make a short video each week. The first 2 are ready for today. Please bear with me as I'm a bit of an old dinosaur π¦and so don't really understand shorts, but here goes!

Hello everyone. Just a little update. At the moment my full time job means creating a new video every week isn't possible. I'm going to try and go for a video every month, and at least be a bit consistent (hopefully that's ok). I have a video ready to go on Sunday (but no spoilers), and I'm already working on the next. If I can get a bit of a head start, I should be able to manage when my job gets busy. As always, a million thank you's for sticking with me, and I hope to see you soon.

Hello everyone. I don't really have any news to share, just that my day job as usual is keeping me very busy and that I am working on a new video that will hopefully be out soon. I just realised that I don't use this tab very much for communication, and in all honesty I could use it much more. So I intend to use this community tab more, to keep in contact with all you lovely people that enjoy watching me be incredibly geeky. You have no idea how much I appreciate your continued support. I have about a million ideas for videos at the moment, but I'm always happy for people to suggest topics for videos. See you all soon.

Hi Everyone. Apologies again for not posting any videos for a while. I'm still around, just very busy with my 9-5 job at the moment. I am still working on new videos but they are taking longer than I'd like sadly. I just want to say Thank You all for your continued support and I will have a new video out in a few weeks. It's all about Quarks, which are really interesting and very weird. Thank you again and I'll see you in the wonderful world of science very soon.

Hello everyone. Apologies for not uploading any videos for a while. My normal job means that at some times of the year I'm very busy. This is one of those times. I will be uploading a video soon (hopefully), but for now, thank you for your continued support. As always, if you have any suggestions for videos, just leave a comment below and I'll do some research.

Wow!!! I'm stunned!!! There are now 10,000 of us enjoying being geeky. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that We'd ever hit such numbers. Ten million thank-yous!! Words can't adequately express how grateful I am to every single one of you for your support. To the people who have been with me for the long haul, and to my newly found friends, I think you are all astoundingly wonderful.
As a side note. I did try to keep up with the comments and reply to them all, but that just isn't possible. I will try to reply to as many as I can, but I will read them all (even the bad ones). The constructively critical ones do help me to make better videos in the future.
Anyway I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for coming with me on my journey to understand the universe a little bit better. My next video will be released today, so I'll hopefully see you then. If anyone has any topics they would like me to cover or has any questions they'd like to know the answer to, just leave a comment and I'll make a video.

Hey everyone. Wow, we reached 1,000. A massive thank you to all of you for your continued support. You're all completely amazing and I appreciate every video view that I get.
As some of you may know I'm a full time teacher, and so the last few weeks have been very busy for me and I haven't been able to put time into video making. However, very soon I'll be able to spend some time making videos, so thank you for bearing with me.
Again a massive thank you to everyone for making me enjoy video making so much!!!
