Through structured development we aim to provide opportunities through sport for the most disadvantaged youth and communities. With a strong aspirational element we strive to achieve excellence and we use sport as a tool for holistic development.

This weekend marks the start of a premier platform for South Africa’s top academy players to showcase their talent and passion for the game.
Opening Ceremony: 30 August, Gijima Training Academy
Festivities kick off tomorrow, with the first matches starting Sunday, 31 August.
Follow the journey of eight academies as they compete in T20 and 50-over formats, culminating in the finals on 4 September.

We welcomed the Knights (Free State) Academy Cricket Team to Gijima, and we got a pleasant surprise — a signed shirt and helmet from the SA Legends team, the recent champions in England after beating Pakistan in the final! The star player of that winning team, Aaron Phangiso, is also the coach of the Knights Academy team. They’ll be staying with us at Gijima until Sunday.
