Making Youtube videos is not always about getting views, subscribers, or any kind of monetary gain. Sometimes you need to post a video just for you. Something that means something to you, regardless of how it performs in the "algorithm". For me, my favourite video I've ever made is a video that is over 2 years old, and only has just over 100 views. It took me a really long time to make the video, and with no payoff you may ask, what was the point? The point is that this video is special to me. It tells the story of how I proposed to my wife. 30 years from now, I'm not going to look back and care at all how it did on YouTube, I'm going to be very grateful I put the time into making the video. Don't forget, as much as you want to make it "big" on YouTube, the more you make videos that actually matter to you the less all of that will actually matter. YouTube will do it's thing, but as long as you're proud of what you've made, that's all that matters.
PS. If anyone cares, the video I'm referring to that is my favourite I've made is called "I Proposed to my Tinder Match". Am i awkward in front of the camera..sure. Could I do it better now, sure. But I tell the story I want to tell and I still tear up watching it today.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with this channel, but super pumped to finally get my BJJ blue belt this week. It’s been 13 years since my first time on the mats, and I’ve obviously not trained that entire time. I’ve done little 6 months stints here and there, but for the last year I’ve been training consistently and it’s become one of my favourite hobbies. Highly recommend you all to try it out if you haven’t before. It’s definitely not an easy hobby or sport in general, but it’s well worth the literal blood and sweat you put into it 😜

After nearly 2 years of posting videos on this channel, I am happy to say that I am finally monetized! Last night was the first night I logged into YouTube Studio and saw actual money there. Crazy. I’m going to make a video all about the journey to get here but wanted to share this in the meantime because it got me psyched. If any of you are still on the grind to becoming monetized, keep going because eventually you’ll get there 👊

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted a video on this channel, and for good reason. My wife and I welcomed our first baby into the world almost a month ago. Meet Maeve, our perfect little girl, who is doing very well as is her momma❤️ It’s obviously been busy and hectic in these first weeks, but things are smoothing out and we’re settling in nicely as a newly expanded family. I’m back at the videos, and a few videos are in the works, posting the first in about a week. I hope everyone is doing well and thanks to all of you that support this channel 🙏 see you soon
