ANNUAL TEPPOTSAVAMS AT TIRUMALA COMMENCES _ శ్రీ‌వారి సాలకట్ల తెప్పోత్సవాలు ప్రారంభం

The Annual Salakatla Teppotsavams at Tirumala commenced in a grand and spiritually vibrant manner on February 26, 2026. On the first day of the five-day float festival, the Utsava deities of Sri Rama, Sita Devi, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya blessed thousands of devotees from a beautifully decorated float in the sacred waters of Swami Pushkarini. The divine atmosphere filled Tirumala with devotion, Vedic chants, and resonating Govinda Nama smaranas.

Earlier in the evening, the Utsava idols were taken in a grand procession through the four Mada Streets surrounding the holy Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, before reaching the Pushkarini. At 6 PM, the deities gracefully boarded the flower-adorned and brilliantly illuminated float, symbolizing divine grace protecting devotees from the ocean of worldly existence. On the first day, Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana Anjaneya Swamy circled the Pushkarini three times, showering blessings upon the gathered devotees.

The Teppotsavams, traditionally known as “Teppa Tirunallu,” are celebrated annually from Ekadashi to Pournami during the sacred Phalguna/Chaitra months (February–March). The word “Teppa” signifies a boat or raft, representing the Lord guiding devotees safely across life’s challenges. This spiritually significant festival continues to draw pilgrims from across the country who seek divine blessings during this auspicious occasion.
