Had the iPhone 16 Pro for 2 weeks now. My favorite thing about it is that I can shoot with Apple LOG. Probably not a feature everyone gushes about, but as a video content creator, this, in my opinion, elevates the output I take using my iPhone. Check out my latest Reel about how I use Apple Log without having to use the highest quality ProRes.

Here are my top 5 gear purchases of 2023. Should I make a video about this?

1. ‪@SonyAlphaUniverse‬ ZV-E1 - The Sony A7Siii is my favorite camera of all time. I love what the sensor of the camera can do. Especially in low light. However, the size was just getting too big for my liking for our family travels. In comes the ZV-E1, which is basically the A7siii in a smaller form factor that lacks the more professional features and functions. But that doesn’t matter to me, so it was a no-brainer to switch to this lightweight beast.

2. ‪@NOMATIC‬ x Peter McKinnon bags - Now these are 2 separate purchases but I’d count them as 1. These 2 bags, the 25L Camera Pack and 8L Sling, are just so functional that it’s so convenient to bring on our family trips. To top that off, these are 2 of the most good looking bags in the market today.

3. ‪@DJI‬ Pocket 3 - In my eyes, none of my other cameras can beat the quality of my Sony mirrorless cameras. But there are just times that either I couldn’t bring the mirrorless cams or I’m just lazy to bring them because of the weight. So in the past, I just accept that I would not get as good quality footages as the Sony’s from my smaller cameras. That isn’t true anymore with the DJI Pocket 3. This tiny camera with a 1-inch sensor would fool a lot of eyes and make you think the footage is being shot with a larger camera.

4. ‪@PolarProFilters‬ Helix MagLock filters - I love magnets and I especially love magnetic lens filters. There is 1 problem though with the previous filters that I owned…they easily get knocked out of the lens when it gets nudged. With Polar Pro’s Helix MagLock locking system, this won’t be a problem anymore for me.

5. ‪@ulanzi‬ x Coman Zero Y Travel Tripod - I have never brought a tripod when I travelled because of one thing…weight. Even the tripods that are marketed as travel tripods feel heavy to me. But when I ordered the Ulanzi x Coman Zero Y Travel Tripod, I immediately said that this could be the first time I would consider bringing a tripod on a trip. And indeed I did. I brought this tripod on our recent family trip to Japan.
