Haven't had a proper upload in a month, so I figured I should talk about that. I've been working on a playthrough of Splatoon Raiders, and part one's gonna come out tomorrow! It took a long time to get done because of a lot of factors that came together to make this a very difficult and very stressful project...
firstly, I've had to switch to a new recording software, my old one started crashing when I tried to record live commentary, I went to troubleshoot only to find out it's end of service :/ I've already used it for a few videos though, so it's not a that big a deal anymore, but it does separate the game audio from the actual recording of the game, which sucks cause I now need to sync them together.
The Splatoon Raiders videos are also a co-op playthrough, with my friend Cameron also recording his perspective, with the whole game taking roughly 20 hours for us to get through, the project entailed me sifting through 20 hours of two different perspectives, syncing both the game audio and the live commentary to both perspectives, and then syncing both perspectives to each other...
And if that wasn't hard enough, 8 hours of my perspective got corrupted... I was able to fix it, but it ended up pretty stuttery and buggy, and since it skipped frames every so often, every time I wanted to show my POV, I have to resync everything again...
So it's been a difficult process, but it's all done now, hope you're looking forward to it, and sorry for going so long without an upload
Since a lot of you all found me through my amiibo videos, it only seems fitting that the 5K special is gonna be the amiibo tournament. 16 amiibos from across nearly 4 years of videos!
Unfortunately I don't have a good estimate on when it'll be out (ran into a couple roadblocks), but I'm gonna try and get it out as fast as I can.
So I hope everyone's looking forward to that, and thank you to everyone for 5K!
Quick update cause I definitely should've had the Pokemon Legends Z-A DLC video out by now...
I started recording, got sick and had to take a break, got better, started recording again, then had to take another break to be with family for christmas, then started recording again, then had to take a break to deal with personal life stuff, then got to continue recording again, then got sick YET AGAIN and that's where I'm at now.
So, sorry about the delay, it's been a rough two weeks for me. I'd like to get the DLC video out before the end of the year, but that all depends on me getting rid of this cold asap.
I've got some fun video ideas planned for 2026, I still want to do a Metroid Prime 4 playthrough, it's been a while since I've played a mario rpg, and I'm sure Air Riders online will be plenty of fun
oh yeah, and everyone keeps telling me to make the amiibos fight each other or something...?
How's everyone enjoying Pokemon Legends Z-A? I'm finally getting around to editing my playthrough. I want to try going back to episodic videos along with my new editing style, but I'm not sure what a good average video length would be, what do you think?
Thanks to everyone who watched the recent Meta Knight amiibo video and decided to stick around! I've never had a video get that many views in such a short time. It became my second most viewed video in just a couple days, which is crazy to me.
This year's been pretty slow for a number of reasons, but I think this'll give me the push I need to really get back into making good videos.
