Mental health is more than symptoms, diagnoses, or prescriptions. At its core, it is about connection—listening, understanding, and seeing the struggles that often go unnoticed.
In our latest episode of Rebooting the Brain, Dr. Prathiba Sharan and Dr. Preeti Srinivas come together to explore the delicate world of mental health. Drawing from their experiences, they share insights on how to support adolescents and young adults, navigate societal stigma, and create spaces where talking about mental health is not only accepted but encouraged.
Together, they discuss:
– How early awareness and exposure shape empathy in mental health care
– Challenges faced by Gen Z, Gen Alpha, and adolescents today
– Misconceptions and myths about psychiatry that prevent people from seeking help
– The impact of gender and relationships on mental well-being
– Why doctors must also prioritize their own mental health
This conversation is more than a discussion on psychiatry—it is a reminder that healing begins with empathy, compassion, and the courage to have honest conversations about what is often still considered taboo.

Dr. Sharan Srinivasan and Dr. Vivekanand are exactly that—neighbors in Bengaluru’s medical landscape, leading neurological and vascular care side by side, while sharing a friendship built on respect, collaboration, and a shared vision for patient care.
In this special Independence Day episode of Rebooting the Brain, we sat down with Dr. Vivekanand, one of India’s leading vascular and endovascular surgeons, and the President of the Vascular Society of India.
In this episode, we explore:
– How building departments next to each other created a unique synergy
– Stories of collaboration that went beyond patient care
– The energy, ideas, and laughter that filled the room during the conversation
– Insights into vascular surgery, patient outcomes, and institutional leadership
