Hey, all you King Kong fans out there, I have this fan idea project of a meta reboot/remake or affectionate parody of King Kong (along the lines of Jaws 3 People 0, Tropic Thunder, Anaconda (2025), Galaxy Quest, The Bubble, etc.). The story is about a ragtag independent film crew that tries to remake King Kong but ends up on the real Skull Island and encounters the real King Kong. Kong and the creatures of Skull Island are no different from how they are usually portrayed, serving as the straight men to the comedy (like the titular snake in the 2025 film Anaconda). I imagine that there is also a rival creature that competes with Kong for who's king of the island (just like Gaw from King Kong of Skull Island and the Skullcrawlers from Kong: Skull Island). I imagine the human characters to be just like real people. I imagine that there was a group of adventurers who had discovered and explored Skull Island, but the expedition went terribly wrong. Someone got off the island and told Merian C. Cooper, which inspired his King Kong film like everybody thought that King Kong is purely fiction, but the rag-tag film crew discovered that the island and Kong is real, kinda just like Brendan Fraser's Journey to the Center of the Earth and Dwayne Johnson's Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The story of the original King Kong did not happen in real life; the film's characters, Anne Darrow, Jack Driscoll, Carl Denham, etc., are fictional, and Kong and the creatures are special effects.
