Dreaming of a cruise vacation? The Icon of the Seas is a new ship from Royal Caribbean International and is the largest cruise ship in the world, with a capacity of up to 7,600 passengers. The ship entered service in January 2024, and its home port is Miami, Florida.

It features a number of attractions, including six waterslides, seven swimming pools, and multiple neighborhoods, including the first suspended infinity pool at sea.

Cruises on the Icon of the Seas from Miami typically last seven nights and go to the Eastern or Western Caribbean.

Looking for the perfect spot to see cruise ships sail away from Miami? Look no further than South Pointe Park and the South Pointe Park Pier. Located at the southern tip of Miami Beach, this popular destination offers stunning panoramic views of the ocean, the Miami skyline, and the massive cruise ships as they exit the port through the Government Cut shipping channel.

It's a favorite spot for both locals and tourists to watch the ships, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, which are typically the busiest departure days. The pier itself is 450 feet long and is an excellent vantage point to get close-up photos of the vessels as they pass.

Wow, what an amazing sight on Saturday! I was lucky enough to spot the brand new MSC World America heading out on its next Caribbean adventure. This ship just debuted this year and is packed with features, including the unique Cliffhanger swing that extends over the ocean.
