We gots Sirenolope, Ody twirling, Eurylochus being shook at the arrival of the pod of Odysirens and Shoe guy/Aphros being distracted by Ody's exotic display Anytime i think im making ody to silly and zesty i remind myself that this is the same man who likes to play dress up, killed the suitors with his booty cheeks out and built a palace around a bed, so he is drama queen
CW: eurylochus's rotting corpse ghost, blood, maggots and flies and implications of domestic violence Just some lil doodles for the chair incident, if you don't know the context basically calypso fuses ody to a chair when he crashes out at her screaming he wants to go home, so calypso crashes out and her powers warp everything in the room. Trying to be mature she leaves to cool off but because she has an extremely poor perception of time, she leaves ody fused to the chair for 5 days and he nearly dies from heat/dehydration Anyways i was like what if ody hallucinates eurylochus's ghost that looks like what ody imagines his decomposing corpse looking like (I think actual ghosts look normal but Ody's trauma ghosts like either their final moments or this case a rotting corpse)
Some lil Horse and the Infant concept doodles elaborating on the previous post! I thought it would be sad if Ody's first instinct when seeing the baby is to go papa penguin mode. Lead to a very dark and depressing idea re Just a Man (which i have no plans on doing since it's too sad) where he gives Astaynax some goat milk mixed with wine or some kind of drug to put him to sleep and then burping him and then cradling him as he drifts off like he would do with the baby telemachus, maybe he sees Andromache as she's taken away but she doesn't see him since he doesn't want to make the baby's death a spectacle, also he probably thinks having her not know the fate of her baby as a small kindness Also i think the wet nurse hides astaynax in a partially open trunk crowded by furniture to keep him safe
An idea I’ve had percolating for awhile is Odysseus being nearly stabbed with a knife by Astayanax’s wet nurse as he enters the room and instinctually stabbing her. Not trying to diminish Andromache, but I think realistically the baby would be mainly looked after by a wet nurse (also it makes no sense that that he’d be left alone in the room) She’s a middle aged lady who’s obviously a servant. Her own children have probably been killed but she puts up a fight even as she dies, clawing at ody’s face, to protect the baby she’s cared for Also I think it should be Hector or the wet nurse who should be holding Astayanax in the underworld cuz I just don’t think it should be Polites imo Idk I kinda like the theme of common folk like the wet nurse, the crew and the palace maids suffering the brunt of the consequences from decisions made by people in higher power whether it be gods or kings, even if those decisions aren’t deliberately malicious
As you can see I'm aiming to make the most stupid Suffering animatic of all time! Also in case there's any confusion i am working on Suffering and Survive at the same time, it's just Suffering is the easier animatic to do and I'm still trying to figure out an attack plan for Survive that is somewhat realistic but also with lots of spectacle (rn im leaning towards Ody and the bb grills inventing an ancient greek molotov cocktail on the fly with wineskins and the lamp oil that Polyphemus has). Also also I wonder whether peeps like those super short comedy animatics (the one with Poseidon for example) since the song animatics take awhile and the short animatics take no time at all

She’s so obsessed with Ody’s aliveness that he wakes up to her listening to him breath and trying to shove her fingers in his mouth because he’s so full of life and she hasn’t seen anything that wasn’t dead for a hundred years. But she has no concept of mortal fragility, like I think she has cuteness aggression with zero restraint. She covets his unique spirit but also wants to shape him to be more agreeable and uncomplicated Also spooky ghosts that have no chill that prevent ody from yeeting himself because they look so whack nasty
