Recently I've been asked a few times about my career and how I ended up doing what I do. Which made me wonder about doing a YouTube video about just that, from what got me into electronics, through University (Polytechnic), my various electronics jobs then going self employed. Telling some funny (or scary) stories along the way about things that happened to me or people I worked with, and some of the ups and downs. Would you be interested in that?
I've had a disaster. The display screen on one of my Sony HDCAM-SR machines has got broken. The machine runs but is hard to use like this. Very sad. Need new display.
A good working Sony Betamax SL-C40, cosmetically tidy at the front but some light rust on the top cover. Complete with a clean remote control (not quite the original model, but close). Tested for recording and playback. Asking £180 including UK post. Do we have the price right?
If we were to sell that lovely condition N1700, the one with the original box and instructions (and also has the A/V output sockets installed)... and donate 10% of its sale price to the National Autistic Society.... what price do you think we might get for it?
Mrs. Video99 is taking part in the 5k walk in April for the National Autistic Society. She's already done a 9k walk today and more to follow. Donations would be very welcome. waam.autism.org.uk/fundraising/janemccormick-17717… Thanks for your support.
Alas we're going to have to miss out this week! The repair I have taken on is quite difficult, and I've just not made enough progress in this busy week to release a useful video. So I'll work on it some more over the next few days and hopefully next week we'll have enough for something worthwhile. I'll not tell you what it is other than to say I'm messing about with some scary voltages.
There's no chance of releasing a video on Friday 06.03.26 I'm afraid. I'm relying on an outside contractor for getting some equipment back to me and there just won't be enough hours. But hopefully it will be done over the weekend. But anyway, we did get an extra video in last weekend, so do watch that if you have not seen it (Echo Auto).

We found something in this antique shop. It looked like it needed saving.

There's been a technical glitch with today's upload. I'm working to see if that can be resolved with a replacement upload later this evening.
