A dairy brand just won an international award – surprisingly not for milk – and it isn’t as bizarre as it sounds.
Two days ago, great news from thousands of kilometres away in Zurich, Switzerland, reached our Hyderabad office. We had just won the SEE Impact Award 2025 (Catalyst Tier) by SIFEM. An international recognition for our project of training rural youth as paravets to combat mastitis, this award wasn't for our milk but for tackling a silent crisis by empowering our dairy ecosystem.
For the past eight months, our team has been on the ground visiting 250+ villages, interacting with 5500+ dairy farmers to understand a problem that rarely makes headlines - Mastitis, a painful udder infection that silently eats away at the income and confidence of India’s marginal farmers.
In a country where one veterinarian serves nearly 6000 animals, farmers are often left to fight this battle alone. That’s where we saw a gap - a skill gap, a technology gap, and most importantly, a gap in a farmer's hope.
So, we built a three-step solution: 1. Educate farmers about prevention and hygiene. 2. Train rural youth as paravets who can detect and treat mastitis. 3. Digitize cattle health records and conduct periodic tests.
What began as a small pilot project has grown into a larger mission – to make veterinary care and farmer education accessible across our farmer network. And now, with the $100,000 winning grant, that mission gets to travel further.
This recognition is humbling, empowering, and a reminder that you can build a business where growth and purpose don’t need to compete – they can coexist.
Thank you, SIFEM - Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets, for believing in our work.
