PNG Tax Facts

Public funds are not private money. They belong to the people and must be managed with honesty, transparency, and accountability. Every kina spent should deliver real services, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and opportunities for citizens. When public funds are misused, it is the people who suffer. Accountability is not optional—it is a responsibility owed to every taxpayer and every community.

PNG Tax Facts

By Roy Wesly of Brave PNG

"I have tried many Asian countries to see if we can enter their market by establishing our company in their soils. Unfortunately, It is impossible because their Governments by Law they protect their local businesses. They intentionally make it difficult for foreign companies from entering their markets from company registration to immigration to licencing to bank account openings to land access to allmost everything.

However, it is very different here in my country. Any foreigner can register a company, get a TIN, open a bank account, access land, access license, operate with or without physical office, access visa, bring in anything and anybody, hire whoever they want, fire whoever they want, do whatever they want and list goes. PNG is a HEAVEN on earth for them.

We are giving away our economic power on a golden plate. Do you know how dangerouse it is to givie away your economic power? Whoever controls the market controls the economy. Whoever dominates the market owns the economic power. The little support they will give to you to take over your market is peanut compared to what they will make from your own economy. Our Market or Economy is our GOD given field to create wealth for ourselves all our generations.

The Department of Commerce, Immigration, Departnent of Labour, Department of Trade, City Authorities like NCDC, Department of Lands, IRC, IPA, Banks, Head of Departments and Ministers Responsible, you are the gate keepers of our Economy and the Market. Please do the right thing and stop the influx of foreign own companies into our small market. We are not big market like Australia. I see our children will be pushed out of our economy and be trapped in the cycle of poverty, crime and unemployment if you cannot protect their economy.

Support Homegrown Businesses which have growth potentials to lead in the economy. PNGeans will build PNG and no one else will do not even by the so called investors. Protect and support your local businesses like them. We have many investors in the country since Independance and you can judge it yourself. Tax from the investors alone will not develop the country.

PNG now has a confirmed NRL team coming in 2028, yet many citizens still struggle with basic services. The real question isn’t whether we deserve a team—it’s whether this investment will actually benefit the people.
Do you think this will help everyday Papua New Guineans, or should the money be spent elsewhere?
