Morning team! Today I found what I’ve been excited for… The NEW Fast & Furious set! But had the weirdest thing happen that threw me off… 🤔

A known “last 6 months” scalper that is a regular around here now showed up today while I was waiting for doors to open exactly the same way I have for years (That told me he’s called store and knows there’s new stuff pegged, otherwise he’d be at Walmart like he usually is…) I’m always nice and talk to him even tho he doesn’t talk much. I told him I’m excited and looking forward to the new Fast & Furious set. He replied bragging about finding the entire set the other day showing me photos on his phone (Which is on marketplace and eBay by the way…). I entered store first staying ahead of him because I know he damn near runs. Approaching the diecast isle, with excitement I see the cars with RX-7 on front… Reaching for it, he then tried to LEAP in front of me while my hand was going for it knocking two other cars off the pegs… I luckily was sort of “prepared” for this from him and managed to grab it first because I reacted half a second faster than him, but still in shock that he actually tried to go for it. I should have said something along the line of “Please don’t reach in front of me like that and respect my personal space, and thank you.” but even tho I was sort of expecting that from him, I still have just never had someone lunge in front of me so it basically left me in shock… it was more than in my bubble and personal space. 🫨

I am all for the “hunt” and finding things first making it fun and laughing about it, but this was an aggressive, sneaky, shady, snatch vibe. He knew those cars were there… I would never grab or reach in front of someone myself whatsoever. Normally, I would have just fell back and walked slower and more normal allowing him to get what he wanted while I look among the scraps.

I’ve spent my entire life being the nice guy when others are not. Very humble, giving, helping, and allowed myself to purposely get used and walked on basically my entire life. If roles were reversed, even if I found it first, I would have given it to him knowing I already found it and he’s looking for it. I choose to stand my ground and play his game today.

Anyone else have people like this around them? Treating this hobby like a competitive sport and a race? 🤔

Has anyone actually found one of these on the pegs? We have been hunting for years, found many Super Treasure Hunts, but never a 0/5 chase. (We did buy a case online and pulled one though.) Then they go and make them of gold for 2026… I think it’s safe to say we will most likely never find one in the wild… 🤣👌
