What's everyone up to this weekend? For me it's basement / YT studio work. Got the mud done and ready to paint the back and side walls. If all goes as planned the TV can get up off the floor and back on the wall as well! Itching to get back out there but have to finish this area of the room first to make it functional again. Also waiting on my new adventure hiking camera which should be here before May.

Hiking conditioning at my 2 local parks happening soon as well. Here's to a productive weekend!

A few months ago Potensic reached out and asked me to take a look at their Atom drone. While this is something I typically wouldn't review on this channel, it's something I may end up using in my backpacking trips.

Drones are illegal in most places and I personally find that they bring you out of the moment and nature when they are around when hiking. However, I want to drop this video to you all to check out because I absolutely love this thing!

Getting word that the Shelly fire has quadrupled overnight and is now affecting over 3,000 acres of land. It is becoming dangerously close to highway 3.

Bigfoot and I are currently 40 mi away from Etna. I'm wondering if anyone in the area is willing to drive us past the fire closure. Whether it be Lovers Campground which has a trail that connects with the PCT 4 miles past the closure or at this point Siead Valley.

We have already reached out to a few local Trail angels and asked the same. We can see the fire smoke off in the distance but are not being affected by any fumes as of now.

UPDATE: we were able to find a ride for 10 hikers. The PCTA has now closed the trail from Etna summit to Seiad Valley. We made the choice today to go into town to avoid the fumes. We will ride out to Seiad Valley tomorrow morning and continue our journey.

Hey all I am having a blast on the PCT but my wife tells me that there are quite a few ads on the videos. While I do need some ad revenue to continue this hike I will be showing her how to remove a few of the ad breaks this weekend while I am home for my son's bday. I am unable to change any ad settings on my phone out here.

Hi Jason,

From what you are describing in your application, you will not need a permit. Enjoy the hiking, but beware we have had an abundance of snow this year and storms are very common this time of year.
