The Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) for Caribbean Small Island Developing States (CSIDS) is the inter-governmental mechanism established by the Forum of Ministers of Environment for Latin America and the Caribbean. It was established at 14th Meeting in Panama, pursuant to Forumโs 2003 Decisions 4. PISLM is the principle body assigned by 25th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) [Environment] in April 2008 in Guyana. It coordinates, on the behalf of CSIDS, Land Resources components of Barbados Programme of Action (BPOA), Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the BPOA (MSI/BPOA) and the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (SAMOA Pathway) in CSIDS. Framework for implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in CSIDS. Executing projects in 9 CARICOM nations funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

๐ฑ๐ฌ He explains that this initiative is expected to support the Government and its technical agencies with the implementation of a practical and sustainable LDN Strategy together with achieving its food security goals.
๐๐ณThis survey which commenced on January 13, is being made possible through collaboration among the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM), the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI), the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission, with support from the University of the West Indies.
It is being done as part of Phase 1 of the Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) multicounty soil management initiative for integrated landscape restoration and sustainable food systems: Phase 1 known as CSIDS-SOILCARE.
๐๐It is a flagship project on soils funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and executed by the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) with the Food and Agricultural Organiation of the UN, as the implementing agency.
