Welcome to the NeuroHyperSensitivity™ (NHS) channel. I am Dr. Ayguen Sahin, MSc, PhD, a scientist of 26 years - geneticist, (brain) cancer scientist, and cancer immunotherapy specialist. You are likely here because you’ve realized your brain and your body is functioning in a very high alert and in a neurologically sensitive manner.
My weekly NHS Practical Neuroscience Masterclasses are available for free to the public for only 48 hours. After that, they move into our permanent NHS Membership library. This membership, which is currently available for the Founder’s membership price of only $29/month, is a private community space for us to learn, advocate as ambassadors, drive scientific and medical research, policies, and get support from me in a structured way.
Now, before anything, I want you to take the 5-Question Quiz on my website to see if you qualify for our NHS Community. Let’s finally get the attention to our neurological condition we so deserve!
Much Love,
Dr. Aygün Sahin

Happy Monday, everyone! I want you to take this information with you this week, if you are suffering from 'freeze-type procrastination'. Meaning, you FREEZE before starting a task, which I describe in my new, one-of-the-kind, The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook (now available - only through my website: drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…)
This is the biological sequence. And the sequence matters more than any individual technique. The most consistent error I observe - in people attempting to address freeze-type procrastination independently, and in practitioners who work with them - is the application of structure, accountability, and action-based interventions to a nervous system that is not yet in a state where those interventions can be received.
A task list presented to an offline prefrontal cortex does not produce initiation. It produces additional threat signal.
Full Stop!
The sight of uncompleted obligations, read by a dysregulated amygdala, registers as evidence of danger and inadequacy, deepening the shutdown rather than interrupting it (especially for high-achievers, who, most likely, were never procrastinators at younger ages).
The sequence I built the guidebook around, and that I apply in my own daily practice, begins with regulation, not planning - 100%!
- It uses specific physiological interventions to bring the amygdala out of threat mode and restore prefrontal cortex availability.
- It then reduces cognitive load through precise task architecture.
- It thereafter introduces graduated action; small, clearly bounded, immediately rewarded, to begin building the amygdala's library of safety evidence around that category of task.
What I describe here has, literally, nothing to do with motivation or saying affirmations. What I talk about is a biological sequence grounded in the documented neuroscience of nervous system regulation and amygdala reconditioning. It is the complete architecture of The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook, which I highly recommend if the procrastination freeze suddenly took over your life and before it completely ruins it.

Happy Monday, everyone! I want you to take this information with you this week, if you are suffering from freeze-type procrastination. Meaning, you FREEZE before starting a task, which I describe in my new, one-of-the-kind, The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook (now available - only through my website: drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…)
Our beautiful member of this community, Sarah, said something that stopped me completely when I read it:
“I will definitely apply this, Dr. I tend to procrastinate when I get triggered.”
That one sentence is actually the most precise description of freeze-type procrastination I have ever heard from someone outside of my own experience. This literally describes a type of procrastination that is not "habit" or "motivation"-related. But rather a type of procrastination that is triggered through a physiological response, originating in the nervous system before conscious thought can intervene.
This is the type of procrastination I started to suffer from for the last three years, which started to ruin my life! I started to miss very important opportunities. I call it the "freeze-type procrastination". Because you literally freeze!
I had to urgently find the solution, which I searched for it everywhere, for years, but there was nothing! No one, at all, was talking about this type of procrastination.
Since I had to develop and test protocols to make it through, I know exactly now:
- why this is happening, and
- how I can stop or overcome it - every single time.
And, I have put this all together in The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook. Chapter 3 is specifically about identifying what triggers your freeze and why. Chapter 5 gives you the immediate tools for the moment it hits. And the free 30-minute call included with every purchase is where we take all of it and apply it directly to your specific situation and your specific triggers.

Hi, everyone! I am opening 2 spots this weekend for a complimentary 30-minute one-on-one call with me.
Here is who this is for:
If you have been experiencing procrastination, but you are not sure whether what you are dealing with is the "standard" kind (or, what I call the "motivational" procrastination), or the freeze-type procrastination that my new guidebook is specifically built around, this call is for you.
Freeze-type procrastination is physiologically distinct. It is not a motivation problem or a discipline problem. It originates in the nervous system and it requires a completely different approach than anything in the standard "productivity" conversation. But not everyone who procrastinates is experiencing it, and I would rather you know which category you are actually in before you decide whether the guidebook is what you need.
On the call I will ask you about your specific experience. How the freeze shows up for you. What makes it worse. What has and has not worked. And I will give you my honest assessment of what I think is driving it and what I think will actually help.
If it turns out the guidebook is exactly what your nervous system needs, you will know that. If something else is a better fit, I will tell you that too.
2 spots are available - this weekend only.
BOOK your call now (first come, first served!) → drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…
I look forward to talking with you and guiding you!

⏰A few hours left, and I want to say something:
The special sale closes at 9:00 am EST tomorrow morning.
That is less than 12 hours from now.
I want to say something directly, because I think it matters more than another reminder about the discount:
If you opened this email and felt something, like a recognition, relief that someone is finally naming this correctly, a quiet 'that is exactly me', and then found yourself not clicking through, not acting on it, putting it aside for later, I want you to notice that.
That hesitation. That 'I'll do it later.' That tab you opened and closed.
That is the freeze. In real time. In your own nervous system. Right now.
The Anxiety.
And it is precisely what this guidebook is built to address; not as a concept, but as a documented neurological mechanism with a precise, science-based protocol for interrupting it.
Amber felt it. Sarah felt it. The people who have been following this work for years felt it. And they acted anyway, which, as it turns out, is the exact mechanism by which a specific brain region documented in Harvard Medical School research begins to physically grow.
You have a few hours.
It is 20% off. No code required, it is already applied at the checkout. A FREE 30-minute one-on-one call with me is included.

Whatever you decide - I am grateful you are here.
P.S. Sale ends at 9:00 am EST tomorrow. After that it returns to full price. This is the last email. → drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…

🛍️Amber pre-ordered this. Here is what she said:
Our amazing Amber has been part of this community for a long time.
She has gone through my 30-day programs, my statement cards, my journals, my techniques. She knows my work deeply. And at some point she reached out and told me:
"I was struggling and feeling overwhelmed with some very important goals. The smart goal worksheets are amazing at helping me organize. The breathing technique is helping me daily. I truly needed these tools and direction."
And then, without hesitation, she pre-ordered The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook.
Because she had already experienced what happens when the right science-based tool meets the right nervous system. She did not need convincing. She knew.
Another wonderful member of this community, Sarah, put it in a way I have thought about many times since:
"I will definitely apply this, Dr. I tend to procrastinate when I get triggered."
Triggered. That word is the entire clinical picture of what this guidebook addresses. Not procrastination as a "habit" or "lack of motivation". Procrastination as a triggered physiological response - one that begins in the nervous system, long before conscious thought can intervene.
The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook is the first resource built specifically around that mechanism. The neuroscience of why it happens. The regulatory protocol that actually interrupts it. And a bonus chapter built on Harvard Medical School research documenting how a specific brain region physically grows every time you push through what you do not want to do.
Amber pre-ordered it before it was finished. She waited nearly a year. And the guidebook she is receiving is significantly more comprehensive than what she originally signed up for.
You do not have to wait.
The 24-hour sale is live right now - 20% off, already applied at checkout, no code needed. You have until 9:00 am EST tomorrow morning.

P.S. Every purchase includes a complimentary 30-minute one-on-one call with me directly. Bring your specific situation. I will bring the science. → drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…

📢 SALE ALERT: 24 hours only! Get 20% off: The Procrastination FREEZE Release Guidebook
When I first put The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook on pre-sale, back in November (under the initial name: 7-Day Procrastination Rewire Protocol), I had already been working on the content for months. And I had already heard from our community members like Amber, and others in this community, who had been asking me about this exact topic.
They did not need convincing. They pre-ordered immediately. Because they recognized themselves in what I was describing.
The freeze!
The complete shutdown before you can even begin. You simply cannot move; can't do the task.
The kind of procrastination that has nothing to do with "motivation" or "self-discipline" (trust me, neither of which I ever lacked), and everything to do with what is happening in your nervous system.
Since that pre-sale, the guidebook has grown into something I am genuinely proud of:
✓ The neuroscience of why your nervous system shuts down before you can begin
✓ A complete regulatory protocol - not "motivation" or "habit stacking" (that never works for me). Based on actual nervous system science.
✓ 8 worksheets embedded chapter by chapter so you apply it immediately
✓ 2 full NHS Practical Neuroscience Masterclass videos embedded
✓ 2 technique videos embedded
✅Bonus exclusive personal tips from my own daily protocol, not published anywhere else
✅ A bonus chapter built around Harvard Medical School research on the brain region that physically grows when you push through what you do not want to do, and
✅ A complimentary 30-minute one-on-one call with me - included
50 pages of full-packed, practical science you can apply right away! This guidebook is truly one of the most comprehensive thing I have ever built - because it is a guidebook BASED ON MY OWN CHALLENGE I HAD TO SOLVE!
And right now, for the next 24 hours only, it is 20% off. No code needed. The discount is already applied at checkout → drayguensahin.com/procrastination-freeze-release-g…
This sale ends in 24 hrs (by tomorrow, 9:00 AM EST).
P.S.: The 20% discount is already applied, just go straight to checkout.

What I describe here is the compounding mechanism the standard productivity conversation never addresses, and the reason 'freeze-type procrastination' becomes progressively more intractable under sustained stress.
Cortisol has two effects directly relevant here:
1) It heightens amygdala sensitivity. Under chronic cortisol elevation, the amygdala requires less stimulation to fire a threat response, and the freeze threshold drops with every additional sustained pressure. Tasks that were previously manageable begin triggering shutdown.
2) Chronic cortisol exposure progressively impairs prefrontal cortex function.
The prefrontal cortex is both the home of executive function and the primary regulator of amygdala reactivity. As its function degrades under cortisol load, the amygdala's ability to be checked and modulated diminishes. The system becomes increasingly reactive and decreasingly self-correcting.
At this point, we can't talk about "motivational procrastination". This is - most certainly - an ongoing neurochemical spiral with a distinct biological mechanism.
Understanding that mechanism is the first step toward interrupting it, which is exactly what Chapter 2 of The Procrastination Freeze Release Guidebook is built to do.
Only the people who experience the horrible side of it, will understand this. Once you experience it, you'll want to try everything in your power to get out of it (especially if you have been a self-disciplined, high-achiever your entire life!).
Check out your BONUS in the comments section!
