Have you ever stood up quickly and felt dizzy for a few seconds? 😵‍💫
This common experience is called orthostatic hypotension.
When you suddenly stand up, gravity pulls blood toward your legs.
For a brief moment, less blood reaches the brain, causing a temporary drop in oxygen and nutrients. This results in dizziness, lightheadedness, or even blurred vision.
Normally, your body corrects this quickly by:
• Increasing heart rate
• Constricting blood vessels
• Maintaining blood pressure
But dizziness becomes more noticeable when:
• You are dehydrated
• You haven’t eaten properly
• Your blood pressure is low
• You are tired or overheated
In most healthy people, this is harmless and short-lasting.
However, frequent dizziness on standing can indicate blood pressure problems, anemia, or autonomic dysfunction and should not be ignored.
The human body works on precise balance — even small changes can create noticeable effects.

Your brain feels NO pain — surprising, right? 🤯
The brain tissue itself does not contain pain receptors (nociceptors).
That is why neurosurgeons can perform awake brain surgeries — patients remain conscious, respond to questions, and yet do not feel pain from the brain tissue being touched or operated on.
So then, why do we experience headaches?
Headache pain actually comes from structures surrounding the brain, not the brain itself. These pain-sensitive structures include:
• Blood vessels and their walls
• Meninges (the protective layers covering the brain)
• Scalp, neck, and facial muscles
• Cranial nerves
When these structures become irritated, stretched, inflamed, or tense — pain signals are sent to the brain, which we perceive as a headache.
This is why different headaches have different causes:
• Migraines → blood vessel and nerve involvement
• Tension headaches → muscle tightness
• Sinus headaches → pressure and inflammation
The human body is full of such fascinating design features — logical, protective, and efficient.
