What do you think of when you think of organ music? Do you even think about organ music? Organ music is not only for the church. The organ is a lot more interesting than you think: every organ is completely different. Organists too. Mostly...
Fraser asked me to jump on and post the schedule for the weekend because he’s currently busy in the kitchen cooking!
Here is the plan for the next few days:
Tonight (Friday): It’s been a long week with the little one being sick, so Fraser is doing a "Weekend Unwind" stream tonight - just a chill session with some gentler music to relax into the weekend. MAybe you can motivate him to play some fast and furious pieces too.
Saturday: The usual "Tooba" session for the Gartshore Gang Illuminati (Members). You know who you are and where to find it!
Sunday: Apparently, Sunday is "National Gourmet Coffee Day", so he’s doing a "Caffeine & Keys" special. Grab a mug of something hot and join him for that one.
And finally... Since it's his birthday next week (24 January), I have to mention the Birthday Wishlist. It’s barely moved recently! If you want to make his day, the link is below.
🎂 10 DAYS TO GO: FRASER'S BIRTHDAY WISHLIST Hello everyone, Vanessa here! We have officially hit the 10-day countdown to Fraser’s birthday on January 24th! 🕒
I’ve had a few people ask: "Vanessa, why these specific items?" So, I’ve been doing some "spy work" in Fraser’s studio notes to explain why these are the exact pieces of the puzzle for a world-class 2026.
1. The PreSonus Quantum HD8 (The Studio Heart) 🎹 (currently at 25%) Fraser is currently using a Behringer X32 mixer as an "emergency" interface. It’s a great piece of kit, but it’s a 24-bit, 48kHz live mixer with technology form 2013, not an up-to-date studio interface.
The Plan: The PreSonus offers 32-bit audio at up to 192kHz (essential for the massive dynamic range of a pipe organ) and built-in MIDI.
The Bonus: By getting this, we "free up" the Behringer mixer to be repurposed elsewhere in the studio. The whole studio is expanding, not just replacing!
2. The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K (The Solo Vision) 🎥 (currently at 9%) This isn't just "another camera." It’s a game-changer for our filming because it is the only Blackmagic camera with Continuous Autofocus. The Benefit: Even if Fraser is filming himself at the console, he needs a camera that keeps him in sharp focus automatically. This camera does that while providing "Feature Film" image quality.
3. The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 Art Lens (The "Sensible" Glass) 🔍 (currently no donations!) You can have a great camera, but the lens is the "eye."
Why this one? It’s an "L-Mount" lens, meaning it fits the new camera perfectly without adapters. It provides professional f/2.8 brightness (crucial for dark churches!) at a much more "sensible" price point than other brands. Who wants to be the first to get the ball rolling on this item?
We are making steady progress, but we still have a way to go on the "Big Goals" before the 24th! Let’s see if we can at least get the Studio Heart or the SSD fully funded this week! I'll post again on Friday with an update.
It’s a bit of a "one-man-band" situation at the moment in every sense of the word. Our little one is still under the weather with a tummy bug, so I’m on full-time nursing duty while Fraser keeps the music and the household going.
I’m still very much in control of the wishlist and I've taken over his YouTube page for this week. I would love to get everything ordered and delivered for him, and with only 12 days to go until Fraser’s birthday on January 24th, the countdown is officially ON! 🕒
While he’s busy, I’m hoping we can make a massive dent in the "Studio Heart" (the PreSonus interface) and that 6K Cinema Camera rig for him (there's a blog post on Buy Me A Coffee explaining the equipment choices). He’s working so hard balancing everything right now; I’d love for him to find out that we are nearing the birthday goal. Don't forget this is all a surprise for him, so don't tell him anything!!!
Let's show him some love today while I'm stuck with the thermometer and the tissues!
Sorry folks, but there's going to be no Friday Night Is Organ Music Night this week - our Bundle of Joy has come down with a bit of a fever and we are keeping a close eye on her.
🔴 Gartshore Radio is back ON AIR! (24/7 Non-stop Organ Music)
Need a soundtrack for your weekend?
I have officially restarted the 24/7 Livestream! It is now broadcasting my album "Fraser Gartshore's Organ Works" on a continuous loop.
It features recordings of 10 of my original compositions made a few years ago. Whether you are working, reading, or just need some peaceful pipes in the background, the stream is open for you to drop in anytime.
🎹 Want to play the pieces yourself? If you hear something you like, the sheet music for the entire collection is available for download right here: 👉 buymeacoffee.com/frasergartshore/e/158650
I hope you are currently recovering on the sofa surrounded by chocolate wrappers.
While the Advent Calendar is finished, the music isn't over yet! We have three major events left to squeeze every last drop of joy out of 2025.
Here is the schedule for the "Gartshore Grand Finale":
1️⃣ TONIGHT: The "Musical Leftovers" Special 📅 Friday 26th Dec | 22:00 CET It’s Boxing Day (St. Stephen's Day), so tonight is a relaxed, fun stream. We are clearing the table of all the carols we missed during Advent (including Good King Wenceslas!). Grab a turkey sandwich and join me for a chill-out session.
2️⃣ SUNDAY: The 2025 Studio Finale "That Was The Year ThatWas" 📅 Sunday 28th Dec | 22:00 CET This will be the final livestream from the home console this year. We are going to look back at the musical highlights of 2025, play your absolute favorites, and sign off the Sunday series with a bang.
3️⃣ NEW YEAR'S EVE: Live in Concert at St. Josef! 📅 Wednesday 31st Dec | 22:30 CET For the big night, I am leaving the studio! I will be playing a LIVE Concert on the magnificent organ at St. Josef, Bonn-Beuel (Germany). Join me late-night as we sweep out the old year and welcome 2026 with a massive acoustic experience. This concert will NOT be streamed on YouTube! It's LIVE!
Mark your calendars, set your alarms, and let's finish the year on a high note! 🎹🚀
Merry Christmas to the best "Wind Supply" on the internet! 🌬️🎹🎄
An organ is really just a silent collection of metal and wood until the wind gets pumped into it.
Well, this channel is much the same. It’s just me sitting in cold churches and my lonely music room talking to myself until the "Gartshore Gang" shows up in the comments and brings it all to life.
Thank you for providing the wind for my musical sails this December! It has been a massive month, and I couldn't have done it without your enthusiasm.
Have a truly magical Christmas Day, wherever you are in the world.
I just caught a glimpse of Vanessa’s laptop (while she was supposed to be resting!) and she looked... well, a bit disappointed. I’ve been seeing your comments about a "Secret Wishlist," and I get the feeling her Christmas "takeover" isn't quite going to plan.
I still don’t know exactly what’s on that list, but I do know how hard she’s worked to organize things for the channel while being so poorly. If she’s trying to organize a "Final Push" for something the channel needs, I’d hate for her to be stressed about it on Christmas Eve!
If you know what she’s up to, or if you want to help her finish whatever mission she started, could you head over to the BMAC page and check it out?
Let’s see if we can turn that frown upside down for her before the big day! 🎄✨
