▫️"Ask the Stars" is a real 'space romantic comedy' genre that goes back and forth between the space station and Earth. 1️⃣Q. Why did you choose Pachinko?

I had a desire to do this work and this character. I was drawn to it, because it was a work that showed the power of the storyline. In addition, I acted for a long time with burdens of ratings and box office success, but it was a work that I could personally feel a bit free from the weight I used to carry. It was great to be able to freely express the emotions of the essence of the stoy. Personally, Pachinko became an announcement of a new beginning.

2️⃣Q. Why did you choose Hansu?

I was drawn to Hansu's unorganized and unadorned sensibility. He is a character with emotions and stories that cannot be found and felt in nowadays. He has a huge dark inside, but in order to protect himself, he chooses that darkness as a way of survival, and moves forward. Hansu brought me heartbreak.

3️⃣Q. How did you breathe with Kim Min-ha, who plays the role of Sunja?

There is a god where Hansu meets Sunja for the first time. I tried not to express it as simply falling love at first sight. I tried to paint a scene that makes me look back on my inner self and past through the Sunja. It was a strong attraction between humans and humans. Rather than being romantic, they expressed explicit and primal love besides the sea or in the mountains without any filters.

4️⃣Q. In the process of becoming Hansu

I wanted to present the change of a person who was an absolute good and kind but turned out to be an absolute bad and evil in the process of survival. I thought of Hansu as a person who was rough and cruel in many ways in that desperate era, who only looked ahead, and could even kill anyone in order to survive.

5️⃣Q. What was your challenge as an actor?

In this work, I wanted to break down the existing refined image and return to the wild to express it in a primitive or original way. It was the part that I was greedy for as an actor. However, rather than making any special effort, I adapted and melted myself into this work and created this character.

I thought of it. If possible, I just wanted to feel it.

Minho and Kim Min-ha unfold a realistic romance by disassembling #Hansu and Sunja in the play. Minho, who has mainly dealt with beautiful love stories, also offers a different charm by filming raw love scenes.

🔸Minho said, "I always think I've done a lot of romantic characters within a good frame, but in this work, there is a scene where Hansu meets Sunja for the first time. I tried not to express it as simply love at first sight." he explained.

"Our kissing scenes and things like these are not as romantic as we have done in the kdrama, these scenes were filmed in places like besides the sea or mountains, without any filters, an explicit and primal expression of love. It seems to have happened,” he said.

🔸The breathing of the two actors to express the original love was also different. Kim Min-ha said, "We talked a lot. We shared our thoughts about this scene and casting, and naturally, we talked a lot as if we knew each other on set, so I think that kind of chemistry came out."

In addition, Lee Min-ho said, "Since their relationship cannot be expressed as love that can be found in real life, I tried to know a lot about actress Min-ha after the casting was completed, and in addition to the work, I tried to feel the story of Min-ha's real life and the story of how she lived.
