Hi, I’m Jelena — a Latvian woman, a single mom of two, and a storyteller living between cultures, islands, and identities.
I left Germany with two little kids, after break up, and a deep feeling that my real life was waiting for me somewhere warm.
I found it here — in the Philippines 🌴
This country didn’t just become my home — it woke me up. It made me sing again.
Now I live, learn, and grow alongside my kids — through ocean days, jeepney rides, local friendships, quiet heartbreaks and wild dreams.
On this channel, you’ll find:
✨ real island motherhood
✨ soulful reflections
✨ food, chaos, culture
✨ healing, laughter, and life with kids
✨ and a woman who’s still figuring it all out — but doing it out loud
Every video is filled with real love for the Philippines and for all the brave women choosing their own way.
Welcome. 💛

Guys, did you know that a volcano can create a natural “soda sparkling spring”?
Yes, real volcanic water, naturally carbonated, cold, refreshing… and when you swim there, it feels like it gives you a couple years back 😅✨
I shared a new vlog — a full day on the magical island Camiguin.
We explored the spring, the volcano, the waterfalls, eat delicious Filipino food and I tried a new sweet treat called Kiping 😍 (like big chips made from cassava and served with sweet sauce) for the very first time.
It looks simple, but it actually tastes really good. 😋
If you want a little island escape with beautiful views today, come watch my new vlog:

Friends, my new vlog is out! 🎥✨
We visited one of the most powerful waterfalls I’ve ever seen — Tinuy-an Falls in Mindanao 🇵🇭💦
And guess what… we met the 3-time Kadayawan Festival champions from Bislig City! 💃🏆
It was such an incredible day — I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in little gifts from above,
and this one was definitely one of them. 💙
👉 Take a look at my new vlog and thank you so much for your support! 🌿💫

Nag-vlog kami sa birthday celebration ni Masha — isang Russian na sobrang galing sa Filipino languages!
We sang Filipino songs, enjoyed food, and I even asked her how she learned Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilocano, and Ilonggo!
Grabe, parang tunay na Pinay!

Today I’m remembering something that happened exactly 10 years ago.
One of the scariest moments of our lives.
My daughter Emma was just 1 year and 3 months old when it happened.
I had boiled some fresh, farm milk — not store-bought — to sterilize it. I poured it into a cup. Emma was standing near the window, not near table so I turned away for just a second — to grab some bread.
And in that very moment, she run to the table, reached up…
and poured the boiling milk all over her face.
On her eyes. Her cheeks. Her neck. Head. Stomach.
It happened so fast… the moment I turned back I saw the picture how milk covers her face…
All I could do was watch —
as my baby screamed in pain, her skin burning in front of my eyes.
I was at home alone. She had schock. Me too. I put her under cold shower and called husband who was at work that time to come home immediately. He left work. I should have called ambulance but I didn’t know how fast will they come so we rushed her to the hospital.
They gave her a lot of pain killers, put her in sleep and said that she has 21 % of body burnings and told that it is too serious that she we will be transfered in another hospital in Stuttgart who specialises for face burns. And we immediately been transfered in Stuttgart Clinic. With car this road would take more than 1 hour . With helicopter we arrived in 12 minutes.
Surgery room. Surgeon comes out and tells me:
“Even if her face heals… the skin on her neck will most likely stay scarred. It will tighten and wrinkle.”
But what scared me the most —
her little face and eyes was so swollen
that doctors couldn’t tell whether she still had her sight.
They said, “Sometimes babies reflexively close their eyes. But we won’t know yet if she managed to.” Maybe her eyes are damaged and she will never be able to see again…
This was probably the most 3 scariest day in my life.. Imagine in 1 second lost beauty and eyes. Because of 1 my mistake. 1 put cup with hot milk too near to the edge of the table…
I remember Doctor on helicopter saw my condition, I was young 22 years old mom that time.. He put his hand on my shoulder and said me: “please, don’t blame yourself, this is not your fault, children are sometimes much faster as it is possible to react” I will be forever thankful to this young doctor for this support words. Later they send psychological help to me, what recieve every mother in that clinic after her child got serious burnings.. And I really needed it because I was in shock, I couldn’t sleep, I only try to close my eyes and see in front of them a picture of that exact moment how hot milk covers her face…
So we waited.
We cried.
And so many people prayed — from different countries, different churches, all holding us in love and their prayers.
⸻
And then…
a miracle.
Her skin started to heal very quickly. The swelling went down, her eyes were not damaged, which means she managed to close them. And in 12 days we could leave the hospital.
Of course it’s also probably German medicine what helped, don’t know how it would turn out if it would happened in my home country in Latvia… German medicine is in high level, doctors used artificial skin on her. But they predicted a scars… but by Gods grace nothing left. I praise the Lord until this day 🙏❤️
And slowly… everything healed. It was a long rehabilitation road. For 3 more months we have to apply special creme on her skin and hide from sun for a year…
But Today, 10 years later, look at her now. Beautiful Young Lady… No scars. No damage to her eyes. No marks on her skin.
Just soft, beautiful girl with healthy beautiful skin, like nothing ever happened.
I look at her face — and I see more than just my child.
I see grace. I see Gods mercy.
I see life after pain.
Thank You Jesus 🙏❤️
