Almost 2 years ago I made a video called "Super Smash Bros Melee as an 80's Dark Fantasy Film". It was the first time I experimented with generative AI. Back then AI video wasn't really a thing yet so everyone was making slideshow style videos of their favorite media re-imagined. Now, in just the span of 2 years the tools we have totally eclipse everything that has come before it. There are still many limitations with the current AI tech but it's a really exciting time to be making videos. I can't wait to see what tools we'll have available in the next 2 years.
So here is a new look at what Smash Melee could have been as a TV show from a time long past.
Some of you might have seen the recent anime adaptation of Junji Ito's UZUMAKI. And while it left many people wondering "what if" by the second episode, it also left me wondering "what if" the manga was adapted into a live action series. Yes, I know there was a live action movie adaptation back in the day, but it felt extremely rushed trying to fit into a feature film runtime.
Now normally I think manga or anime to live action adaptations are less than desirable, but there's something about UZUMAKI that I feel translates to live action when given the proper time and care...
Of course you would need a huge studio with deep pockets to bring the vision to life (if Netflix and A24 had a baby), but maybe in the not so distant future we'll be able to make the adaptation ourselves. Here is my rendition of a live action version of UZUMAKI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CJ93...
I just released a new video on my channel. This was a lot of work for a 1 minute video, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/Cc8cIuixLpQ
