We’ve been a little quiet lately—life on the homestead has been busy! From building projects to animal care to a quick road trip down to Hershey, PA for a very special reason…
We’re incredibly honored (and still a bit in shock) to be named one of just 15 recipients of the Jumpstart 2025 Beginner Farmer Grant, receiving $10,000 to invest in the next chapter of Norley Family Farms.
What started as a dream—raising chickens, growing our own food, building everything from scratch—has grown into something much bigger. This year, we officially took the leap from backyard sugaring to a small-scale maple syrup operation.
And yes—we do hope to sell our syrup to the public next year! But first, there’s work to be done.
This grant is helping us build a dedicated sugar house, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Huge thanks to @HaggardMountain for sharing the grant info and cheering us on every step of the way. That’s the beauty of this community—connecting with folks who truly get it.
And thank you to @HorizonFarmCredit for believing in beginner farmers like us. We’re so excited to show you how this grant will shape the future of our farm!
