This is a friendly place to explore art and painting. This channel is dedicated to releasing weekly real time acrylic painting lessons for beginners. Learn how to paint, ask questions, and enjoy!
Hey there and happy weekend! I just uploaded a new lesson up over on patreon, where we continue our bigger painting series! www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-painting-130361464 Last week we tackled the colorful sky and this week we craft a deeply intricate mountain. The tutorial walks you through painting a base layer with a subtle gradient, adding darker, directional textures, interjecting a contrasting warmth (but a subtle one) then adding the real subjects, in the snow and the distant trees. With that said, enjoy the new relaxing lesson and as always, stay creative! Ryan
Hey there! I have a big announcement today which I've very much been looking forward to sharing with you! βΊοΈ While I've loved making compressive painting tutorials over the last decade, this year I want to expand creatively and so, I made a second channel! On the new one I'm going to share the behind the scenes process of how I find inspiration, prep painting ideas, and work with other mediums, like oil paints! Though, it won't just be me over there, it's a collaborative channel with my partner, Athena, who is also an extremely talented artist! Though, she focuses more so on portraiture, so there will be a lot of unique ideas up there, which i can't typically share here on the acrylic landscape channel. We have four completed and posted, so you can do a little binge for inspiration, and I really can't express how fulfilling creating these has been with Athena. You guys are going to love her, and we're going to make a lot of exciting artwork together! Check out our latest passion project right here βΊοΈ https://youtu.be/VHLHDdnZCg4
P.S. You will still find the acrylic landscape lessons up here each weekend, so no changes to this channel, this is all bonus content to keep you happy & inspired!
Hey there and happy cyber monday! I wanted to make a quick post noting that if you've been waiting to pick up the brushes I use in all of my acrylic tutorials, now is the time :) You can use code CYBER25 at checkout to save 25% on the brush set craftamo.com/products/ryan-orourke-x-craftamo Happy shopping, happy painting, and I'll see you soon with another painting lesson!
Work on our big 24x24 inch piece begins today with a softly blended sky and some highly detailed distant trees. One thing I'm already loving about this new series is the ability to render extremely realistic detail, in a way we simply can't on the typical smaller canvas size. So, I'm having a lot of fun and I hope you do too! P.S. There should be another new episode out this week π www.patreon.com/posts/103131764?pr=true
Hey there and happy Sunday! Today I'm excited to announce that we're starting a new bonus series up on Patreon where we render a highly detailed river scene on a big 24x24 inch canvas. I'll be posting weekly lessons walking you through the process of how I tackle larger canvases and integrate real additional detail. In today's video I show you how I free hand sketch the scene and talk about how I like to begin these pieces. Additionally, you can find the traceable and reference photo in the post as well. So, if you support the channel up over on Patreon I hope you enjoy episode one of this big new series and I'll see you later this week with episode two! www.patreon.com/posts/traceables-demo-102312238
