I'm an aspiring writer and have made it a hobby of mine to work on story crafting and world-building whenever I get the chance, like when I don't have schoolwork, cross country practice, part time jobs, you get the picture. This is an enjoyable pursuit for me and one I hope to develop in the future, even if nothing more than a creative outlet as opposed to a full blown career, since I have little to no idea how anything I make will be received nor if I will see any success come from it. But, there is one annoying issue with my writing style that I constantly have a problem amending. My works suffer from crippling over specification, owing to my numerous neurotic tendencies and history of applying pointless amounts of pseudo-science, that is to say, I can never let anything go without detailed explanation, even when one is not necessary and otherwise gets in the way of the story. From my weird perspective, everything has to be connected with some sort of reason behind it, capable of being rationalized when viewed in a real world perspective. On a positive note, this can give me greater awareness in regards to plot holes and creating a more consistent setting for my stories to take place in, but on the downside, this results in my creative process being incredibly slowed and at times outright damaged when I encounter an idea that I cannot reconcile with whatever bizarre internal logic I have chosen to apply to the setting. I know no one sees these, but if anyone actually does read this, I would appreciate some advice.

Warning semi-spoilers ahead:

Okay, I've been playing through Tunic for a bit, really fun game, amazing animation and gameplay, but as anyone who has played the game can tell you, the lore isn't the most obvious, only giving you bits and pieces as you progress. I recently got to an area called the Quarry, and while I won't say what lore was revealed there, I will say, after seeing what was there, I had to stop the game for a bit and just sit down for a while, it was majorly unsettling.

I got some books from the Dune Series as a gift a while back, I've always been a massive Sci-Fi Nerd and I'd been looking for a good book series, but while my older brother was visiting, he said he wanted to "Borrow" them for a bit, I lent them to him...That was 4 months ago, I only just got them back.

I sometimes like to throw random characters and concepts together for story ideas, and now I cannot get the idea out of my head of a Sonic IDW comic miniseries that follows Mimic and Infinite having to work together. I think their dynamic would be very interesting, since they both value power and strength, are morally bankrupt but emotionally complex, have deep rooted psychological issues, and are highly dangerous mercenaries. They would definitely be planning to betray each other the whole time, since Infinite is openly violent, is reckless, and wants to be on the strongest side (Eggman), but Mimic tends to stick to the shadows, is more calculating, and wants to stay off the radar of people like Eggman, but in the end, due to both getting what they want and knowing that any interaction they have with each other could jeopardize their respective goals (Mimic doesn't want to be found out by Eggman, and Infinite doesn't want Eggman to think him incapable), they just leave with a begrudging respect for each other, cold professional acknowledgment and nothing more. I would call it "Phantoms"

Random Sonic Headcanon 16:Similar to my last assessment of alternate dimensions, I think that a place like Cyber Space is a mix of the concept of a location formed from inter-dimensional energy as a small pocket reality, and an existence in and of itself. I believe that it, and other constructs similar to it, like the Cyberspace in Shadow The Hedgehog and Null space are dimensions of pure light/hard-light and energy that with enough control and alteration can be used to carry data and different energy signatures, the Cyberspace from Frontiers being the best version of this.

Random Sonic Headcanon 15:On the note of the storybook worlds, I believe that they are akin to shatterspaces, basically realms which are formed off the energy and aspects of other dimensions as opposed to being true dimensions on their own, and like the Shatterspaces continue to exist outside of traditional time and space.

Random Sonic Headcanon 14:These are technically two theories but they're close to each other, and since time is something I don't have a terrible amount of these days, I'll try to kill two birds with one stone. On the topic of population in Sonics universe, I believe it's actually smaller than one might think. Given the size of the cities and islands Sonic explores, alongside the variety of species, I'd say that the global population is probably more in the Lord of Rings range of in the upper millions, maybe a billion or two tops. Second, on the topic of species, here's how I view sentience in the Sonic universe, which I believe is directly tied to how much chaos energy a being has:

Fully Developed Civilizations:These are creatures that have concepts like written language and Society, this being Mobians, Humans and Zeti(Though the last are to a very minor degree to my knowledge)

Semi-Developed Species:Species that, while intelligent, lack traditional civilization and writing, so species like the Wisps and Coco, and Ghosts, the last of which I believe are raw chaos echoes formed by those whose consciousness has either been preserved by one form or another or were strong willed enough to resist true destruction and leave behind an imprint of themselves.

Semi-Sentient:creatures capable of rational thought, complex emotion, and intelligence, but aren't as an adapted to have society structure or language, this being the Chao.

Greater Evolved Animals:Animals that possess more intelligence and ability than regular animals, so things like giant chaos-energy mutated animals.

Regular Animals:Self-Explanatory, though the animal friends are slightly in between this category and the greater evolved animals, as they are particularly intelligent and possibly chaos energy associated animals, but not to the degree that it gives them any noticeable abilities or makes them fully sentient, same goes for the Orca that hates Sonic, Froggy, etc.
