Follow me as I learn to ride a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400. I'm a brand new rider and the ultimate goal is to become a track rider who rides safely through the gnarly traffic and streets of Maryland in the DC Metro area. I passed the MSF and received my Motorcycle license endorsement in May of 2025.
My ultimate dream is to one day ride a motorcycle in Japan at night through the scenic streets of Tokyo. I've been twice and have many more visits planned.
I also have a huge passion for Pokemon Cards but I'm making this a Motorcycle-first channel. Any card videos will not be pushed to subscribers and will be contained in a separate playlist with separate tags. Feel free to check it out once those start getting posted. I'm a pretty big collector.

Sorry for the lack of posting. In the last few weeks I suffered a pretty bad cut on my eyeball right over my cornea that's just now starting to heal back up. No permanent damage luckily but I was afraid of some and I may need to go back in to get a procedure done on it. I'll be back eventually but taking a bit of a break. Light sensitivity is unfortunately a particularly nasty side effect. YouTube was honestly the last of my concerns at the time when it happened. It's healing up just in time for me to be able to do my bachelor party but when the new video is up I'll make sure to send out a notification.
Hope everyone enjoys the fall weather. I'll have more to come but no definitive dates.
Note: Do not get a cut on your eyeball. It fucking sucks.
-Scott.

So.... dealership FINALLY mailed me my plate (Bought bike out of state and was on temp tags. Couldn't pick it up). They told me it was in the mail on August 1st. Called two weeks later to say where the plate was, then they gave me a tracking number that hadn't been scanned by USPS yet and made me call them out and tell them I knew that meant they hadn't even shipped it yet. Acted all confused and then quietly mailed the plate without an apology or anything. Ugh. Either way. Finally have my plate. Couldn't ride for the last 10 days which was really frustrating. But I'm back in business now. About 40% done with my next edit (it's a big one). Just glad I don't have to deal with this anymore. It was preventing me from getting my break-in service done. I was going to do the first break-in service myself but want to make sure it gets a once-over by a professional after break in. After that, I'll be changing my own oil, cleaning my own chain, checking my brake fluid, etc. Any major services or anything to do with brakes I'll likely always leave to the professionals but I really do want to start working on my own bikes. Not getting a bunch of random temu parts but just knowing how to take it apart (to a reasonable degree) and put it back together. Installing my frame sliders on my bachelor weekend (a little under a month's time) with my rider buddy who is flying in. It will definitely help to have a second set of hands for that one since we have to take fairings off and I haven't done it before. Anyway, thanks for bearing with. I would say new video is probably up before the end of the weekend. Somewhere in that timeframe. It will be my first big ride (3.5 hours). Ended up being pretty spooky at times (the weather that is) but ends on an awesome note.

New video is up! More speed!
It's a bit of a simple video, but it went a longggg way towards giving me confidence towards my first big ride (next video). I'm itching to release the next one but, for now, enjoy the one that gave me the confidence to do that one lol

I have 3 videos on deck in various states of edit. I really wanted to build up a buffer so I could just edit whenever I could in my free time. Way less hectic. Planning out my first long-ish route tomorrow (around 3 hours round trip). Been doing a ton of research on how to plan loops and stops with google maps and get good group ride organization, etc in case I want to have some of you join me on the route. The weather tomorrow seems like it will just barely cooperate. Making a TON of progress on skill and comfortability in traffic.

New video out now! First time hitting a twisty road and got my first biker wave after a sketchy moment where I needed the vibes back. Best I’ve felt on the bike. Covered a decent amount of ground!

Edit is wrapped. Just doing the export and the upload here in a bit. Probably up in ~90 minutes. No 3am night. I'm thrilled. Absolutely massive edit job for me. Woof. Appreciate y'all being patient.

New video out tonight (possibly early morning hours of tomorrow). Apologies for the gap, but between the monsoon weekend, card show, planning a wedding, getting my website up, hockey games, my normal 9-5, and the 4th of July, it's been hard to finish the 4-5 hour edit for the last video. I'm about halfway done with my latest video. I'm going to drop links to all my gear in the description, also, and a link to the video on how I did my setup. I would just be repeating a lot of stuff I already saw and got help from and I want to help bump the channel that helped me. Thanks for bearing with me. The cool thing though is I have a good backlog of footage building up because I've been prioritizing riding when it's nice out. Lots of comfortability on the bike. Got a couple messages about group rides which is awesome! Can't wait to ride with some of y'all.

Went for a small ride this morning and randomly ended up at a GameStop Pokemon card drop. Met some cool people and got some cool cards (I'll briefly show in next video). BUT... the big news is that I finally got my website up. I got it deployed as quickly as I could and it will be getting incremental updates as I have time. If you want to get in contact with me for a ride or have any questions/inquiries, email scott@pokemonninja.com !!
Doing another ride tomorrow and finishing up the gear video. Video will probably be up Monday or Tuesday depending on how long the edit takes!

Apologies for the lapse in videos. It's been non-stop raining here and really throwing a damper on things. Part of the gear video was going to be the bike and stuff (installing some shogun frame sliders), but the garage is a mess and wanted to do it outside. It's coming soon the second the weather lets up. Thanks!

Just finished the edit. Dead tired. Will post first in the morning to make sure I didn’t miss something dumb. Much longer video this time so I underestimated how much time it was gonna take! Woof. At least I learned how to bleep out swearing.
