Y’all, I literally just took a faith walk.
I was on my way to my client’s home and had to go down a street called Faith Street. It was dark. It was scary. I looked at the navigation like is this thing sure. I didn’t know where it was leading and even turned around a few times, but I kept following it, trusting my GPS (God's Positioning System) would lead me right where I was supposed to be.
And it hit me…. that’s exactly what faith is.
You don’t always know what you’re doing. You don’t always know where you’re going. But you trust the One who does know. And even in the dark, even in the unknown, you just keep walking because faith will always lead you right where you’re supposed to be.
And the best part: you can’t go wrong following faith so keep walking
Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen

“According to your faith, it will be done.” (Matthew 9:29)
This isn’t about your timing, your plan, or how it looks. It’s about your faith.
Do you really believe what you’re asking God for?
Matthew 21:22 says: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” That’s the key which is believing. Faith isn’t just saying the words or writing a prayer. Faith is trusting God, even when you can’t see how it’s going to happen. Even when it feels impossible. Even when it seems like it’s taking forever.
Stop trying to negotiate with God. Stop doubting His power. Ask Him, yes but believe without hesitation, because your faith is what unlocks the promise.
Reflection: Where in your life do you need to really believe God more than you fear the wait?

The enemy will always come to steal, kill and destroy but do you have to let him? I realize some things are out of our control but the way we choose to respond to our circumstances is within our control
I think about my own life. I could have allowed that heartbreak to turn me bitter, unwilling to heal, ready to hate, believing all men were the same, not to be trusted but instead I chose to recognize the real issues which had nothing to do with him but everything to do with me walking in my own strength, relying on my own understanding, never including God into my life to lead my life as it's been written before I was ever formed in my mother's womb.
I gave God my broken pieces and He revealed His plan

You know a tree by the fruit it produces. If it’s always been an apple tree, why would you expect it to suddenly give you lemons? It’s doing what it’s always done which is producing apples. The same goes for people. We can’t keep expecting someone to be who we want them to be if they’ve only ever shown us who they are. That’s not our job, and it’s not our responsibility to change them. Real change only happens when that person decides for themselves that they’re tired of the same fruit and ready to be uprooted and replanted into something new. Like Matthew 7:16-20 says, “You will know them by their fruit.”
Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
I struggle with this, especially when it comes to family. I keep hoping for a different outcome but I'm realizing family can be like the ones holding the knife at the dinner table. You’d think they’d use it to serve you, but sometimes they’re the first to cut you with it. The wound feels deeper because it came from the hands you trusted most.

As I'm about to write Habakkuk 2:2–3 comes to my mind, reminding us to “write the vision and make it plain.” We spend so much of our time replaying worries, doubts, and what-if scenarios… you know the things that haven’t even happened yet. But what if we replaced all that mental noise with a new vision?
✨️What does a day in your brand new life look like? ✨️What does it look like to walk as the person God created you to be?
When we shift our focus, our attention, and our energy toward that vision, something powerful happens.
Watch how your days begin to turn around. Watch how you become more intentional. Watch how the very things you’ve been praying for and speaking about begin to come into play

Silence isn’t always peace.
A lot of times silence is the very thing that keeps toxic cycles alive. We think not talking about it makes it go away, but really it just allows the dysfunction to keep repeating.
When you’ve been raised in chaos, silence can feel “safe,” but truth is — it’s just covering up the hurt that needs to be healed. Healing starts when we break the silence. When we get real about what happened, when we stop sweeping it under the rug, when we open our mouths and deal with it instead of carrying it.
Silence may have helped you survive, but breaking it is what’s going to help you heal and actually live.
Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NIV): “A time to be silent and a time to speak.”
→ Some seasons call for silence, but healing comes when we recognize it’s time to speak.

I’ve been noticing how so many people are sleeping on their gifts and talents but struggling in their lives! The very thing they are sleeping on is the very thing that will get them out of their struggle, but they keep overlooking it to chase what’s not for them.
It’s really as simple as this: the gift you have is about providing a solution to someone’s problem! When you think about it, everything we have today exists because someone solved a problem. But before it ever became a solution for others, it was a problem for you first. You became your own solution, and in doing so, you created something that could serve the world.
The very thing God has placed within you to lead you to purpose!
The Bible says, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16 KJV). That means what you’re overlooking is actually the very thing God wants to use to open doors for you.
This is why we can’t lean on our own way of thinking. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV).
Pause and pray at this time for God to show you the way He wants you to go! Give Him your pieces, and He will surely give you His plan.

Sis, I just want to show you how sin, when we don’t deal with it can end up living in the bloodline and show up as generational curses.
Some of us are fighting stuff we didn’t even start. The root was planted way before us. But what wasn’t healed has now turned into patterns—and those patterns become normal until someone decides to break the cycle.
Scripture Focus: Genesis 4:6–7
"Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.'"
1. It Started with the Heart and Not the Action
Cain didn’t just go off and kill Abel randomly. That decision was the result of built-up emotions which was jealousy, rejection, comparison, and offense.
And before the action, God gave Cain a warning.
He said, “Sin is crouching at your door. It wants you. But you can rule over it.”
God was basically saying, “This doesn’t have to be your story. You still have a choice.”
But Cain didn’t choose healing. He let his emotions take control.
He didn’t deal with the root so the fruit of that became destruction.
2. How This Shows Up Today
Let’s be real. This is still happening now.
You might not be killing your brother, but:
✨️You’re cutting people off because you don’t know how to deal with offense.
✨️You’re silently competing with others because you’re still trying to feel seen.
✨️You’re looking for validation in places that keep breaking you.
✨️You’re parenting out of pain instead of from a healed place.
That’s Cain today. It just looks different.
It’s the mama who was never loved properly and now struggles to show affection.
It’s the man who was always talked down to as a child, and now he talks down to everyone around him.
The root issue hasn’t changed! Just the symptoms.
3. Cain Could’ve Stopped the Cycle Right There
God gave Cain a choice. He didn’t just say “stop being mad”—He invited him to look deeper.
Cain could’ve:
✨️Talked to God about what he was feeling instead of stuffing it down
✨️Celebrated his brother instead of comparing himself
✨️Let correction lead to growth instead of offense
But instead, he ignored the warning.
And when you ignore God’s correction, you accept the consequences.
4. The Pattern Didn’t Stop But It Got Worse
Later in Genesis 4, we meet Lamech, Cain’s descendant.
And what did he do? He killed a man too.
But here’s the twist! He bragged about it.
Cain was quiet and ashamed.
Lamech was bold and prideful.
What started as buried offense turned into a family line of violence and pride.
When you don’t deal with the sin in your life, it multiplies in the next generation.
5. This Is Why It Matters Now
Generational curses don’t just come from witchcraft or what people call “deep stuff.”
They come from repeated behaviors, unhealed trauma, silent pain, and cycles we call normal.
When you never saw your parents say “I love you,”
when you watched the women in your family stay in toxic relationships,
when you learned to fight before you ever learned to feel those seeds were planted.
And if we don’t pull it up, we’ll pass it on but you can break the cycle.
God still gives the same opportunity today: “Sin is crouching… but you don’t have to let it win.”
You can do the heart work. You can heal. You can choose different.
1. What pattern have you noticed in your family that keeps repeating?
2. What emotions or behaviors have you been ignoring that might be signs of an unhealed root?
3. How have your relationships (romantic, family, or friendships) been affected by something you haven’t dealt with?
4. Who could be impacted by your healing? And who could be affected if you don’t heal?
5. What’s one thing you know God is calling you to face so you can be the one to break the curse?
Recognizing Toxic Cycles and Patterns
If you’ve taken time to reflect and see the roots of the patterns in your life, you’ll start to realize that every toxic cycle has a root. And just like with Cain, if those roots aren’t dealt with, they don’t just stay buried but they grow.
The question is: what are you going to do about it?
You don’t have to keep repeating what was handed down to you.
You don’t have to keep walking in the same dysfunction.
Recognizing these cycles is the first step, but the real work is digging deeper. Understanding where these patterns came from, "What’s the root?", and choosing to let God heal those areas will set you free from passing them down.
Toxic cycles don’t have to continue. But you’ve got to choose to deal with what’s at the root.
It won’t be easy, but it’s worth it. Breaking the cycle today can set up the next generation for something better.
At RestoredHeartz Coaching, part of the journey is helping you face the things you’ve been ignoring, the things you’ve buried because they’ve been too painful or uncomfortable to deal with. But until we face them, we can’t understand where they came from or how they’re affecting us.
When we leave things unhealed, those unresolved issues grow and continue to affect us, often without us even realizing it. They end up in our relationships, our parenting, and most importantly, our children. It’s like a seed planted in the soil of our heart that keeps growing and passing down if we don’t cut it off.
That’s why this work is so important. We’re here to identify those roots, dig deep, and cut off the cycles so they don’t keep showing up in our bloodline. When we confront and deal with those unresolved areas, we can break free and set ourselves—and our children—up for something different. We can rewrite our stories. And we can leave a legacy of healing, not hurt.
You have the power to break free from what’s been passed down. Simply put: Let’s face it, deal with it, and stop it from affecting the next generation.
