Installing these modern style door latches were the key to having my doors shut the way they do. No more slamming, lifting, pushing, pulling to get the doors to operate. Now its just a light push and they close. THANK YOU to Trique MFG for a great product!
I will always support great companies that support their industry, customers and potential customers! Sweet Patina was so kind as to reach out and go through their products with me over the phone and help me pinpoint exactly what I wanted to get done, so naturally I needed to try their product. Needless to say - I was very well pleased!
Building the exhaust on the back of the truck was a challenge as I needed to get up and over the frame, and back down along side it in order to clear the suspension and possible future bagging of the 67. Learned a lot here, made a lot of mistakes, but learned even more through it! Ended up with some angled side exits that came out well, and hidden as intended.
Painting this roof was a task - it was the first thing I've actually sprayed with a HVLP gun for one, but the first thing I needed to get as flat and perfect as I could. Thankfully I have great friends - my buddy Michael at Colorworks Unlimited in Toano was quick to help once I hit him with the task of painting it the day before I had to leave for the trek to the Triple Crown of Hotrodding in Nashville TN. I laid down all the primer, did all the filler work and we wet sanded the primer, shot the tri-coat the day before leaving. Its a factory GM color - bombay ivory from the Cameo series trucks. Michael had a great idea of adding some metal flake and so I found a great gold he had that really set it off in the sun.

Driving a vehicle from the 50s isn't as hard as you'd think - it just takes a bit more thought and care.

My 1954 Bel Air is purely a guilty pleasure - it just looks great anywhere, and drives great everywhere.
