Before you buy, build, compare, or customize a vehicle, you want the truth, not a brochure. That is what this channel is for.

Build Your Own breaks down new and used vehicles in plain English: trim levels, specs, engines, colors, options, pricing, owner's-manual details, build-and-price tools, and the real-world ownership notes the brochures skip.

Every video is made by a real person. I research, record, edit, and publish each one myself. No AI voice, no auto-generated scripts, no reaction content, no recycled filler. That has been true since 2017, and it is not changing.

Trucks, SUVs, sports and luxury cars, classics, and RVs. Chevy and GMC, Porsche, Corvette, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, Mercedes, Cadillac, and more.

Build Your Own

I just published a full car buying guide for anyone shopping for a new or used car and trying to avoid the usual dealership traps.

The guide covers the full process, including how to decide what car fits your life, whether you should buy new or used, how to compare financing offers, what to know about trade-ins, how dealer add-ons work, and what to review before signing the paperwork.

A lot of car buying advice online is either too generic or too focused on getting you into the buying funnel. I wanted this to be more practical and straightforward.

If you are shopping for a used car, this one is for you.

I do not sell cars, and I do not work for any dealer, so here is the straight version: most people do not lose money on the wrong model. They lose it in the financing office, the rate markup, and the history report they skipped that hid a flood or salvage title.

I put everything I know into one short, no-fluff guide: the dealer negotiation scripts, the vehicle-history and inspection checklist that catches a lemon, the financing traps, and a 7-day plan from research to keys in hand.

The Used Car Buying Guide. 13 chapters, 40 pages, $17, and a refund if it does not help you.

My 2026 Hyundai Venue trim level video is live.

This one is interesting because the Venue may now be the cheapest new vehicle in America, starting at just $20,550 before destination.

For 2026, Hyundai simplified the lineup to three trims: SE, SEL, and SEL w/ 2-Tone Roof. The SE is the budget play, the SEL is the smart value trim, and the SEL w/ 2-

Tone Roof is the style pick.

My choice would be the SEL.

Most people think the "Base" Porsche 911 Carrera is just an entry-level car, but after digging into the specs, I found out it’s basically a 992.1 GTS in disguise (with Standard 6-piston brakes and GTS turbos!).

Question for you: Does the 911 losing its analog tachometer for a 100% digital dash ruin the soul of the car, or is it a necessary upgrade?

Quick question: Do you know the MAXIMUM car price you can actually afford?

Not what a dealer will approve you for...

Not what "feels" right...

But what financial experts recommend based on YOUR income?

Most people don't. And that's how they end up "car poor."

I built a free calculator that shows you exactly what you can afford using the 20/4/10 rule (20% down, 4-year max loan, 10% of income for payment).

Takes 2 minutes. No email required.

Calculate yours: carmatchservice.com/car-affordability-calculator/

Know your budget BEFORE you shop. Your future self will thank you.

📘 New Guide Just Dropped – And This One’s Personal

A few months ago, my wife Amanda came to me with an idea.

She said, "What if we created a guide for people who don't know where to start when buying a car? Not gearheads, not experts—just everyday folks who don't want to get played."

So she sat down and started writing.

What came out of that process is now The Smart Car Shopper’s Playbook—a brutally honest, easy-to-read guide that walks you through everything before you ever set foot on a dealership lot.

I helped shape it, added my best tips from years of experience, and we published it together.

This is the same real-world advice we give friends and family behind the scenes—

💡 How to figure out what you actually need
🕵️‍♂️ How to avoid getting tricked by dealer “extras”
⏳ The best times to buy (and when to walk away)
💬 What to say, when to stay quiet, and how to negotiate like a pro

It's not another fluff-filled checklist. It's a full-on playbook—and it's only $5.

This was Amanda’s first book—and I'm beyond proud of what we created together. If you're planning to buy a car soon (or even just thinking about it), grab it. It’ll be the best five bucks you spend this year.

👉 Download it instantly here: carspecsandtrims.com/the-smart-car-shoppers-playbo…

Let us know what you think. This one means a lot to us.
