14 years ago today the largest tornado outbreak ever recorded occurred throughout the southern United States. April 27, 2011 alone over 180 tornadoes with 270 fatalities with over 2000 injuries as well all the tornadoes were widespread. The worst damage happened in the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, the outbreak would leave people and communities reeling from the devastation, and for many it would take years to recover and lots are still recovering to this day.

Today, March 18, 2025 marks 100 years since the tri-state tornado.
For those of you who don’t know, the tri-state tornado was a singular/family of tornadoes that devastated parts of southern Missouri far southern Illinois and Indiana. Many towns lost several homes and buildings while some areas were completely wiped off the map. And today marks 100 years since.

Went down to Branson Missouri for spring break while on the way we crossed over the UP Ames sub and at Kansas City I saw a stadium called CPKC stadium didn’t even know that existed.
