Now beginning his second missionary journey, the Apostle Paul sets out by faith with Silas accompanying him. As they traveled through Cilicia, Derbe, and Lystra sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Lord at Lystra added young Timothy to the team who faithfully served alongside the Apostle Paul and who would one day Pastor the church of Ephesus. As they traveled to find the place where God wanted them to be the Lord guided them by opening and closing doors. Then a vision came to Paul, that they should preach the gospel in Macedonia and in further into Europe.

God Almighty is guiding the course of your life. He will lead those whose hearts are humbly submitted to him. He is the source who provides the resources. Whom God guides, He provides! After having been saved on the road to Damascus, Paul was filled with the Holy Ghost and labored abundantly for the Lord. Both He and Barnabas were commissioned on the first recorded effort to plant churches by going on their first Missionary Journey. (Acts 13-14) Just as God used Paul by saving him, filling him with the Holy Ghost, using him to spread the message of Jesus and planting churches God will use you to do great things in his kingdom. You are on a journey in life to “Know Jesus and Make Jesus Known”.

Humility is defined as a heart attitude of meekness, lowliness, and recognizing one's dependence on God. Humility admits when wrong, doesn’t push the issue when right, endures suffering, demonstrates gratefulness, shows appreciation, puts the needs of others first, a doesn’t fight to argue but maintains peace. Jesus Christ is our great example of humility. He gave of himself to help others. Peter says clothed yourself with humility. Both Peter and James write, “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble”. Be humble!
