She was formally announced at the Hello! Project Hina Fes 2026 Morning Musume '26 & Hello Pro Kenshuusei Premium (モーニング娘。'26 & ハロプロ研修生 プレミアム) concert.

Sakura announced her graduation last summer. The timing of her departure had been undetermined until now.

🎓 Good morning! Akiyama Mao (秋山眞緒) of Tsubaki Factory has announced her graduation from the group and Hello! Project. She is slated to graduate at the end of the fall tour 2026.

I wish Mao the best of luck in her future endeavors. ❤️ There is a mistake in Mao's message. It reads it was signed by Kurumi of BEYOOOOONDS, but it is actually Mao.
